I was looking at an 05 on the dealer lot the other day here in Gresham, Oregon. The home of the 10,000 market adjustment deal. The day was cool and damp. When we opened the trunk/bed there was a good deal of water beading around the top of the bed.

Is this a problem with the SSR?

Thanks,
David

Some have had problems with it, on a continious basis. Only once did the inside of min seem wet, but it was a heavy downpour for an extended lenght of time. Maybe the run off isn't as fast as the downpour. Others had the seals replaced and fixed the problem.

Hope you get the chance to buy!

Moisture in the Trunk of an 05 - Mine Too!

The day after I purchased it I was looking it over and noticed quite a bit of moisture in the bed. I also noticed it smelled musty. So it had to have been leaking for a while.

I took it to the dealer and they had a guy come in who deals strictly with vehicle water problems and he looked at it. He had to modify the existing seal that goes all the way around the bed. The way the corners of the seal cross over at the bottom right corner was causing a gap. Water was running down from the top and directly into the bed.

After the repair, the dealer cleaned the carpet and sprayed it with freshener.

It's been over two weeks and so far it's held up.

If the dealer gives you any grief, or if you want to do this before they give you grief, send a comment to Chevrolet and tell them the problem you are having. They called the dealer while the SSR was there to make sure they were taking care of it.

Good Luck! :seeya

How do you send a "comment to Chevrolet"?

Bill,

The best way to deal with a trouble-some issue is you must document your problem(s) with the dealer first. If after that you and the dealer are still unable to resolve your issue(s) you should call the 1-800-222-1020 number to get yourself a case #. They inturn will contact your dealer and try to resolve any outstanding issues. They will then contact you after they have discussed your situation with the dealer to let you know about your options.

Most of the time they can resolve your problems with the dealer. :thumbs
