My dealer just installed saddle bags, but said the cargo net could not be used because the bags could not be opened when the bar and net are installed. Is this so? I appreciate any input!!

If you take the bar out and put tiedowns at the back end of the bed rails and tiedowns about 6 inches from the back of the side rails you can turn the net sideways and just hook it into the tiedowns and it works better and is easier to remove if you need to.

Saddle bags vs Cargo net

I found if you move the cargo bar as far forward
(away from the tailgate)as you can get it, the box covers can be removed by working them sideways. Once you do this a few times, it is faster than installing/removing the bar.....at least for me it was.:banghead

The net

I have found the net to be useless in it's present form. You cannot haul any groceries in this net since they fall out on the sides. Someone did NOT do their homework with this net for hauling small things. :flag

I wonder if a mod can be done to the net to add a different matterial to the sides that do not help hold anything in because of the gap. I have not even opened mine up, I have only seen the pictures posted here. I nice nylon type material with colors to match our SSR's.

My wife is in the process of knitting the required side parts. I will then add the required side bungie cords. This might just work! This is really a POOR design! :flag

Post pictures of all your ideas guys! Lets see them.
Take a look at the Cargo Net Bar Improv. Suggestions Thread, Post #6. I believe this redesign to be borderline perfect! :flag
