Got my SSR back from the dealer last week... they replaced the drive shaft with part number 10371682... have not crawled under there to see if there is the metal retaining strap as noted in another thread, but all the noise is gone. Weather has been really hot in mid to high 90sw here in Austin, and no noises there either. Sounds really good now. :cool

Thanks for the part number & we all hope this is the cure. I'm waiting to take mine in for my "tink" problem as soon as the weather gets bad here around Chicago. It's been sunny and no rain for weeks now so I hate to be without the SSR. But, just installed a boost kit on my 03 Cobra - supposed to change the stock 390hp to upwards of 500! I'd sure love to have than supercharged motor in my SSR. I do have to say, I get a lot more compliments in the SSR than I do the Cobra. 2 different vehicles that do what they were designed to do very well!!!

That part number is the first replacement driveshaft that Chevy came up with. It is the one that was put into mine several months ago. My tink came back after a few hundred miles. My dealer has ordered the "newer" shaft and should have it in any day now. The new part number is 15247556.

The shaft you had put in has worked for some but most have the tink come back after about 500 miles. Keep track of miles and good luck.
