I have been asked not to use the words "Wind Baffle" when describing the SSR wind blocker I made and have been promoting. I wasn't aware that is actually a product name that has been used by a company that makes a generic wind break that fits all convertibles. I will of course respect that request and not use those exact words together again in any posting. I have also changed the wording in my previous post to "Wind Blocker". I would like to point out I am not in the business of making Wind Blockers for all vehicles only SSR's. I happen to own an SSR and in my opinion it is a very special vehicle that deserves to have a custom made custom fit wind block. One that looks like it was made for the SSR by matching the lines of the vehicle. I developed what I believe is a perfect match for the SSR that works great and looks great without looking like an aftermarket add on. From all the positive feedback I have received from those who have purchased one I have achieved that goal. Now Im hoping I can get all of you on this forum to help me come up with a name "SSR Wind Blocker" seems so dull. Here's how it will work, just put your creative minds to work and post what you think would be a good name. I will take what I feel are the 3 best and start an opinion poll and let everyone on the forum vote on the name. After 1 week who ever gets the most votes will win one of my SSR Windblocks for free a $240.00 value. I will even pay the shipping cost. So c'mon lets have some fun with this!

My weekend was to good to think up any great names. I drove from Virginia Beach to Atlantic City with the top down the entire way (6 hours)...I now have a nice tan.

Other names:

Wind Weasel

Wind Witch

Windless Wonder

Over the Waterfall Window

Hobbel Hurricane Glass

Breeze Break

Breeze Buster

I better stop before people start throwing stuff at me :lol
Wow just think how leisurely that trip would have been without the wind beating on you. But then maybe you wouldn't have come up with all those great names! (Well the "Hobbel Hurricane Glass" is a little hokey) but all are very creative! Good Job!

Wind Blocker

Fought the urge to post the name, "Wind Wimp", but just can't believe owners are even bothering to install the breaker let alone trying to name it? We bought a convertible which is supposed to reflect the past, the wind is part of it... Get a hat and tie it on.
Wow! You have no idea what your missing. The WindBlocker doesn't stop the wind! With the top down and both windows down you get plenty of wind. What you don't get is the back draft that strong swirling wind that blows your hat off, or if your wife or girl friend have long hair it doesn't beat them half to death. If you are on the expressway with the top down and you want to talk on your cell phone or listen to some music without having to blast it to drown out the wind noise Just rollup the windows its like being in your own cocoon. You still enjoy the top down with out all the wind noise and and getting wind burned. But the best part of the Wind Blocker is it really looks cool on the SSR! Who says just because you buy a convertible you have to be uncomfortable when you have the top down? I personally like creature comforts!

Name That SSR Wind Blocker

Ok everyone on Friday at 11:00 am e.s.t. I will be picking the 3 finalists for everyone to vote on. The person whose name that gets the most votes will win as I promised a brand new SSR Wind Blocker (or what ever the new name happens to be) I want to thank all of you that participated in this contest. Also want to thank Troy who sponsors this great site and allows us all to have a little fun like this. Not to mention all the valuable information that we all share in. If you own or will own in the future an SSR you have to be a member of this great web site. So everyone please get your last minute names posted and make my job of trying to only pick 3 names that much harder. I have to tell you this will be really hard, there are so many great names to choose from already.
Thanks to all, and don't forget to tune in Friday morning :seeya

I have picked the three finalists from the many names that were posted. Again thanks to all that participated. I know many of you spent a lot of time coming up with all these names. So I thought it only fair that I spend a lot of time making sure I picked what I consider the three that describe my Wind Blocker best, and would be easy to market. I have to give an "Honorable Mention" to NOSTOC from Oklahoma who submitted the most names 40 WOW! OK here are the 3 names.

SSaiR Deflector-- Submitted by "Looking 4 An SSR" from Atlantic City NJ
SSR WindJammer--Submitted by "Tony" from La Verne CA
Wind SuppreSSR --Submitted by RISSR from RI

I have already taken the liberty of submitting the paperwork for registering all 3 of these names for a trademark search. (didn't want to go through all this so someone else could register the name)
I will be starting a new thread for the Opinion Poll so please check it out and be sure to vote!

You already shipped mine, but what was wrong with the catchy name "WindsuppreSSR" I like the SSR on the end myself. Surely that isn't a trademark?

Jerry
Jerry, This is an old thread, it was a contest that I ran to find a name for my SSR wind blocker. And thanks to the winner of the contest and member of this forum RISSR who submitted the winning name WindsuppreSSR was born. The name was voted on by the members of this forum and WindsuppreSSR was the clear favorite. It really is a catchy name glad you like it! :cheers
