I was asked by one of our supporting members to post some test photos on our site to get some feed back from our members. I do not know who the designer/creator is but I must assume it is someone from the outside looking to make these for after market sales.

If anyone wants to particpate in this sample survey please make your selections.

hoods

Frankly, do not "love" any of them.... the hood we got is rather in keeping with the concept and I do not see these as being so..... but maybe the designer of these products will deal with the prop rod/strut issue..... :thumbs

It's Okay

I think that it is okay. I agree with SSRGUY that the original hood is more in keeping with the retro style. However to really be able to evaluate it I think I would need to see it on an SSR. Can one of our artist friends graft it onto an SSR so that we can really see what it might look like?

Not interested

Personally, I like the look of it now. That's why I bought it. I'm all for design concepts but not particularly interested in this one.

Definately not in line with the concept. Too far off base. The original chevy hood it is designed from is one of the best aesthetic features of this truck, along with the vertical raised edge that goes from the nose to the tail. It breaks up the flow of that line terribly. Just my 2 cents worth.

Sadly No

I can live with the stock hood, but would prefer more attitude. This new design is not functional and to small. The hollow takes away attitude. This design looks mid too late sixty’s (GTO) and is not the right direction for me. I hate to put down someone’s ideas, especially when they are spending money to build something for us. Perhaps they have some other looks they can work on.

rather see struts

I would rather see resources put to providing lift struts for the existing hood, which looks great.

I would like to see some aftermarket hoods. Everyone has there opinion and mine is, It's Never To Radical!

Now if B&M would just adapt the Megashifter for the automatics! Yes, that's right, I can't stand the cue ball shifter!

It will be functional and I will have one on my SSR for the Power Tour, will post pics
as soon as its installed (about 3 weeks from now). I think some of you will change
your minds once you see one on the truck, the scoop is supposed to have a retro-
look. And yes the designer is looking into the hood strut situation !
Thanks all for the feed back

Hood Scoops

I would get the hood scoop only if it was either Ram Air or Cowl Induction. Functional scoops have a purpose.

It looks EXACTLY like the hood scoop on a NEW Thunderbird! :jester
Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I bought 3 T-Birds because I ALWAYS wanted one.
I bought the SSR because it reminds me of the 1953 Chevy truck that my "Popeye" owned for 30 years! :D
