We'll see, they've been on for a month with no problems thusfar. Since they were so cheap, I ordered six sets.

I realize that the '05 has significantly more HP than the '04, but the engine cover's not nearly as attractive!

The 05 engine cover is just plain homely! Does anyone know if an 04 cover will fit? If it will, do any of the members with a MagnaCharger have one they want to sell? Thanks,

the 04 cover comes ugly too, dark gray plastic with a silver insert. I order the body color insert from GM, painted the cover silver and added the decals. but I'll swap it for a 6.0 liter :lol :lol :lol

Dupli Color "Original Chrome" with three coats of Dupli Color clear coat.

just gave it a good scrub using mineral spirits and laid down a coat of gray primer.

Sorry . I don't understand this desire to have an engine cover. A perfomance engine should be a work of art, so why would you want to cover it up?

1. To hold the heat in?

2. To make the engine more difficult to service?

3. To impress your non-mechanically oriented friends at the country club?

2006 Optional Equipment

It looks like the satin finish insert in the center of the engine cover is now an "Optional Accessory" that needs to be ordered with the truck. Looked under the hood of an 06 today and sure enough, it is missing and the ugliness it used to cover is still there. The sales brochure lists it under "Other SSR Accessories".

I guess the 06 buyers will have to shell out a few extra bucks to put that dress item back on..... Does anyone know the 3 letter code for the "new" accessory on the order form and what part number to order after the fact?
