Greeting everyone !
I have been lurking here for quite a while, watching all the postings and learning...

I do not own a SSR yet, but have gotten the wife to agree to go ahead and allow me to get one (I used to just ask forgiveness, but it seemed like I was always in the Dog house)

I need some help, I have been looking for about a month, and with all this knowledge, I thought someone could turn me on to a Dealer here in Southern California or Arizona who actually wants to sell me an SSR !

I have been to a couple that dont want to move but a couple grand off sticker for a 2004 !

Any Suggestions or Dealers you can turn me on to :cool , I really WANT to be an owner !

In December these dealers had plenty of 03/04 inventory - with plenty 05 on new order - you may try these:

Cormier Chevrolet - Long Beach
Connell Chevrolet - Costa Mesa

This dealer has been sitting on the same inventory for quite a while, doesn't seem as if they've been moving...........

Foothill Ranch Chevrolet - Foothill Ranch/Aliso Viejo Area

The dealers in Orange County seem to have been sitting on them, it may be worth a shot.

Good Luck! :)

I talked to the dealer at Vermont Chevrolet and he said he would beat anyone and knock $12000 off sticker on a 04. I was looking at the Ultraviolet there.

Go Out of State

I suggest that you go out of State. I live in California and I bought mine in Minnisota. The SSR's were not selling there. In that area many people want trucks for working not crusing. Also some people take one look at the price ($48000.00 MSRP for mine) and deside not to buy. However, I made an offer of less than $33K and it was accepted (and my SSR has the 1SB package). This included shipping to my door! I price the shipping and the shipping cost was $2K. If you are willing to wait for about two weeks (travel time-don't know why. They must have taken the scenic route and stopped every couple of hours), and if you are willing to buy new, without a test drive, only relying on the warrantee, then you can get a very good one for a reasonable price. Good luck my friend! :seeya

P.S. Search ebay, many of the out of state dealers list their vehicle there. Also try cars.com. :seeya

Vermont Chevrolet is in downtown Los Angeles. Another dealer I tried dealing with at Mountainview Chevrolet in Upland said they would really deal with their 04 Yellow SSR. Mountainview has called me 3 times on the 05 Aqua Blurr I am trying to get them down on. The last time they called they mentioned the yellow 04 again.

Daniel Lee 213-383-5100 xt217. 444 S Vermont, Los Angeles.
Tony at Mountainview Chevrolet 909-985-2866.

I also just talked to Daryl at Rio Rancho Chevrolet and they offered 35K out the door on a black 04. His cell number is 909-261-4631. Hope this helps you. I am still holding out for an 05. Maybe if you buy from one of these dealers I can get a better deal on an 05.

That explains their high inventory!! Well, its their loss! Did you try Connell in Costa Mesa? They are much much smaller, and may be more willing to deal.
When I last spoke with them, they had an order for a bunch of new 05's, so they may still be sitting on some leftovers as well. :)

Best wishes in your quest!!

It is worse than that. IF the car is not CA smog equipped it must have 7,500 miles on it before being registered in CA. Best be very careful when buying out of state.

See last section on this page...

Careful there. That's where the hangar queen resides. Who knows how many more will soon have the same affliction.

Certainly the ebay evidence and other sources quoted on this forum say $10k under list is not that great for an '04. More like $33-ish. I'd take a run at him with something lower than his offer of $37k.
