On recommendation from @Flying Dog I contacted the Lodge in Deadwood for prices an availability. By the way Ron she asked if the red one with black stripes that kept spinning donuts in the parking lot was going to be there🤔🤔🤔. Room prices Tuesday through Thursday $96. Friday and Saturday $169. Right now on Friday and Saturday they only have 30 rooms because the PBR is there for a rodeo. That's not Pabst Blue Ribbon that's Professional Bull Riders. The only problem I see with that is the ladies will want to hang around the motel and look at all the cowboys.I told my lovely wife that I can take my shirt off and put a cowboy hat on and she said NOT.. I will tell her to block the 30 rooms if we need more we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I thi about the weekend after memorial day but people that are traveling a long way and have to use two days to get there might have a problem with rooms on Memorial day plus that would be a lot of tourist Memorial day week. I'll start another thread for signing up. Robert

Question for you Ron slnce you've been there, how far "down the hill" is downtown? Is it walking distance? When we were there last year the parking was very scarce and streets were blocked off and others were one way so walking there would be a lot less hassle.

No, not walking distance, maybe a mile & a half or 2, I think.
I just looked on google maps that shows the Lodge at Deadwood and the actual town.
We didn't have many parking problems when we were in the town back in 2012.
Had a car show and took over the main street for one night.

There are some excellent steak houses and all you can eat crab leg and prime rib buffets the last time I was there. At least pre Covid. Parking can be a little difficult during the busy time buy we were available if we looked hard enough.

We would like to book there whenever possible.

Damn, I sure wanna' come, but a 1,000 dollars for Motel expenses (6/6, 6/7, 6/8, 6/9, 6/10, & 6/13 = 100 bucks a night, 6/11, 6/12 = 200 dollars a night) which includes 2 days to get there and 2 days to get home. Keep in mind I/we don't have to stay all week (8 days) ... come early, leave early or come late and leave late. 7 nights of dinner 🍤🌮🥗🌭🍔@ 50 Dollars a night = $350.00, 7 mornings of breakfast or brunch 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩 @ $30.00 = $210.00 and GAS, hell yes, we gotta' have gas !!! $75 dollars a day for Petro which is approximately $600.00, SOOOO "we be" lookin' at basically 20 to 22 ... 100 Dollar Bills !!! Way too far and hard to walk. The hotel is on the highway with no sidewalk and about 4 or 5 miles from down town. The hotel does have a restaurant, full bar, and casino.
