The boot that goes around the the gas fill cap. I didn't't even know there was supposed to be one. Decided to ask the experts. Thanks,,Dave
I just installed a new one from Amazon a couple of weeks ago.
Pics below are of old one and new one installed.
Easy job, nothing to actually take apart:
1. open fuel door
2. take off filler cap
3. pull off old boot
4. push on new boot
5. replace filler cap
6. close fuel door
CruDawg .. HA! Yea, it was in bad shape, the rubber around the rim was dry-rotted and separated from the rest of the boot. The new rubber allows the fuel door to shut so much quieter. I'll have to start cleaning that area when I wash the truck.
Dang Carl!! Were you letting Squirrels nest in there??
 LOL
Great instructions btw, I think even I would be willing to try that repair!!
