Hello, been lurking here for awhile and after looking at 03's and 04's and also considering the GTO's I have wittled my choice down to either a black or silver 04 SSR. Both local dealers are giving me the exact deal, $34500 minus $5000 trade. Both are amost the same, black has crome wheels, silver has storage boxes, this is the only differance's. I think I will get the black one. What do you all think? Just like black better and I dont think either color is more rare the the other. Oh well just have to get through the night now... Jim

Black Vs. Silver?

Hey Jim & Mona,

I suggest you might like to take a long look at this thread. You may get some great feedback as to what color you might like best!

PS. I think either choice is a great color... I guess I don't need to tell you mine!

Black is definately the "high maintenance" color, BUT 1500.00 worth of chrome wheels for the same price as the silver one w/o chrome is hard to beat.

Actually, IMHO you can't go wrong with either one. (Especially since the BEST COLOR is not an option for you. :) )

Do you like the door seams to stand out or be hidden by color. Then there is the contrast with the silver trim. It's just a matter of YOUR taste. Do you plan to add other colors later, which of these color's works with the new color best. Silver is regarded as the best color to show off body contours by all the car manufactures and you see that at the new car shows.

Black is very elegant. You really can’t go wrong with black. I have owned black trucks since the mid-seventies. However, when selecting g the SSR, I decided to go with Silver. I won’t show the dirt as much (I will be driving it pretty regular… once the snow goes away) and it really shows the kool lines of the SSR.

I was very apprehensive at first because I know that black would be beautiful, but I am very happy with Silver

Pick the color you like most!

Go for the black with the chrome wheels, you'll get alot more enjoyment out of the wheels than the storage boxes.
I would say go with the color you like first. If you happen to choose silver hey you can always buy a set of chrome wheels later on. :thumbs

Go Black

You know what they say "BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL" and "ONCE YOU GO BLACK YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK"Someone also said "BALD IS BEAUTIFUL" too, so I'm at 2 and 1/2.

(HAVE A BLACK SSR, BLACK 78 4x4 STEPSIDE WITH FLAMES, BLACKCHERRY 80 GMC JIMMY WITH GRAPHICS, BLACKCHERRY 77 GMC CUSTOM 4X4 WITH GRAPHICS, BLACK REFIGERATOR, BLACK STOVE, BLACK LAQUERED ENTERAINMENT CENTER) which covers the first two and my hair line has receded dratsically since about age 24 (now Bald on top and long hair in the back) therefore 2 and 1/2.

My choice is go BLACK
