To our Canadian Fanatic family members,
I just wanted to let you know on behalf of the Ohio Chapter we are praying that you will be receiving GREAT news on July 21st about your travels to the US and back home! It isn't possible to have a truly "International" Rally without you! I know that you all want to "Have Fun In 21'!" just like those of us in the States and thus the reason for this post!

I encourage you to get your Registration and Event forms filled out and ready to email or mail them as soon as you get the great news! Yes, our deadline is August 1st and a week should be enough to send an email or have a letter delivered but if its a few days later it will be ok. Even if it gets extended to August 21st, we will jump through any hoops we need to allow you to attend! You are family!

So please don't give up thinking its not going to be possible! We can and will be ready to welcome you to Cincinnati with huge "PermaGrins" in September! :D We have missed you at Maggie Valley and at the Deadwood Rally as well and can't wait to see you again!

With lifted up prayers and crossed fingers we wait for GREAT NEWS on July 21st!

Larry and the Ohio Chapter!

IF the border opens on July 21 I suspect any travelers who plan to cross in either direction will need to be FULLY vaccinated meaning TWO shots more than 14 days before crossing. Trudeau made comments yesterday to support this theory.

So the I identify as a fully vaccinated person won't work? Or how about it is against HEPA rules and law to ask me about my personal health choices?

I still can't believe we have an issue with our northern boarder, but the southern one will let people known to be infected enter and let go to roam freely with no cautions.

Canada does not have HEPA. It is Canada that closed the boarder. They did not have OPERATION WARP SPEED> just operation woke speed.

I saw this in a Bloomburg website this evening:
"Businesses have been pushing for Trudeau to allow fully vaccinated U.S. travelers before the summer is over in an effort to avoid a second lost summer tourist season. Fully vaccinated Canadian citizens and residents have been exempt from quarantine since July 5, the first easing of restrictions since they were put in place."

So does this mean you all can come and return home with no quarantine if you are fully vaccinated? I sure hope so! :D

I saw a new article this morning that Trudeau plans to allow fully vaccinated Americans come to Canada by Mid August. Presume it will be reciprocal and Canadians will be able to travel to the US. ABOUT TIME!!!!!!
My understanding is they can travel here now, They just have to quarantine in expensive hotels when they try to get home. I may have it wrong but that is the way I heard the story.

That was the case but no longer as of July 5th the article stated. July 21st is the day more information is suppose to be released. basically if you are completely vaccinated there should be no problem... time will tell just trying to share hopefully information! ;) Obviously our Canadians know the real deal! Keep us informed! :D

My fear is if I got across the border Canada would not let me back & the US wouldn't want to keep me so they could make a movie about me -"The Man Without a Country."
My sons just groan when I get going! HaHa! But in their hearts they love it, and I love them for it..

On July 5 Canadians could fly back into Canada without having to spend time in a hotel then 14 days of quarantine as we did when we came back for the Summer in late April. Americans are still not allowed in for non essential purposes. Hopefully by mid August we will both be able to cross the border both ways if fully vaccinated. More details will come out over the next couple weeks but I don't expect it to be fully open as it was before covid shut us all down.

July 19th = The Canadian federal government announced today it plans to let fully vaccinated tourists visit Canada again soon.

Ottawa now says that — starting Aug. 9 at 12:01 a.m. ET. — fully vaccinated U.S. citizens and permanent residents living in that country will be able to visit Canada without having to quarantine for two weeks.

The government said it then plans to open Canada's borders to fully vaccinated travellers from all other countries on Sept. 7.
Foreign travellers entering Canada will need to present proof (in either English or French) that they've received a complete round of one of the vaccines authorized for use in Canada. That means two doses of either the Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca products, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, at least 14 days before arriving.

All travellers must use the government's ArriveCAN portal to submit their information. If they meet the government's criteria, they will not have to quarantine upon arrival in Canada.

I wonder when the US will announce a reciprocal opening for Canadians wanting to drive south?

The way I read it you must also have a negative test within 72 hours of crossing and a 14 day quarantine plan in place. Lot of hassle to go have pizza with friends.

Announced today, border closed to Canadians has been extended another 30 days to August 21st for non-essential travel.
So is this the American policy at the border or won't the Canadian government let you leave and come back? 🤔
