Hi all,
05 SSR automatic throwing a P0308 code. Hoping it’s the most simple thing, plugs. Anybody have experience with this code? What did you finally find as the assignable cause?
Thanks gang,
Bob

Just looked up P0308. Code points to a misfiring cylinder number 8.

Seems to me that potential causes could be anything from plug or ignition coil failure to a bad fuel injector.

No direct experience personally.

Causes

Read that, looking to address the easiest issue first plugs. Then on down the list.

Even though I don’t have many miles on it I had the same code on another car and it was bad plugs.......

I have seen this a few times in a 5.3, may be the same with the 6.0. In two cases it was a cracked insulator on the #8 plug. Why always the #8, I have no idea. both were Chevy trucks with over 120K miles and may have had the original plugs.
Pull the plug and check it before diving any deeper.
