Good morning guys,

I have had the P0446 code on my 2004 for a couple of months. I’ve replaced the gas cap with one from the dealership but the code keeps coming back. I’ve read many of the posts regarding the P0446 and the consensus is the vent valve solenoid and maybe the canister. I’d like to replace the solenoid but when I check for the part online I get lots of different pictures of what they say is the same part.
Does anyone have a solid part # for this piece that you could provide me?
Thanks so much

I've had a similar situation twice with my Chevy Avalanche. While they always say.......replace the gas cap, most times that is not the problem. The part under the truck by the gas tank, I thing that is the solenoid, that is likely the culprit. That fixed mine the first time around. The remaining part is the piece under the hood on top.

I replace all three recently and still have the code come back. Mine turned out to be squirrels had chewed thru the vent line on top of the gas tank.:frown2: Overll cost me several hundred dollars to drop the tank and fix the line. Plus the parts I replaced that were not bad in the first place.:crying:
