Dealer Calls , Tell Me To Pick Up My Ssr , Came In This Morning.
So I Go Down Friday Night To Pick Her Up.
When I Get There I'm Informed That The Engine Light Stays On ,
But Tech Says It A Bad Gas Cap. It Should Be Ok To Drive If I Want
To Take It For Week End , Bring Back On Monday.
I Took It And Had One Of The Best Week Ends I've Had In A Long Time.
Just Got Back From Dealer Driving A 04 Impala. I Was There For 3 Hrs.
Before I Was Told , The Tech Checked The Sensor And Its Fine. The
Problem Is In The Wire That Goes To The Sensor. The Connection Is
Broken Some Where In The Harness And Don't Know How Long It Will
Take To Find It. All I Can Say Is It Was Great WHILE It Lasted

Sorry to hear about your problem. All vehicles will have problems, the real concern is how the dealer handles them? Sounds like yours is doing things right so far. I just had the pleasure of being with 23 SSR owners Sunday. I didn't give it much thought till reading your post, but can't remember one owner mentioning any major problems and no one said they were sorry they bought an SSR.

FYO: When I picked up my SSR they had just filled it with gas. My CEL (check engine light) came on. Found out later that if you pull over and take gas cap off and reinstall it has something to do with the light. Seems like I saw comments along this line in the Tech section. Do a search and see what you can find. I read about it someplace. I hate to see dealer techs. get into wiring harness, turns into a nightmare. Good luck, Scheide.
