HELP!

Does anyone know how to remove the passenger side airbag so I can remove the center dash panel to replace the instrument cluster in my SSR? The DIC is funky and is under warranty but I am not comfortable letting the service department replace it, if you know what I mean, fix one thing destroy another! My friend owns the dealership and lets me do my own warranty work as he knows how "curious", as he puts it, I am. Any help would be appreciated.

Luv my SSR, but am having a time adjusting to the stares and curiosity! Not a ride to own if you want to be unconspicuous!

Thanks beer100! I got the printout from the service manager at my dealer for the airbag removal. Even they do not have repair manuals for the SSR's yet! They get all their instructions on line! Beware about replacement parts for the SSr's as well. They sent me a new instrument cluster(under warranty) and they sent one for the 2005 models! The only decernable difference was the redline on the replacement was 65g's and the '04's are 55g's! I had to argue with the parts guy, but he called and sure enough they had made an update and sent the wrong part. So now it's wait another day for the right one! Seems lie GM is trying, but do not appreciate the investment we have all made in this vehicle!

There's no real informational difference between the online, CD or dead tree versions of the Service manual.

If you spring for the CD what you actually get is a private web server installed on your pc that serves web pages to your favorite web browser. It's the exact same thing the dealer has, except you don't get the monthly updates. The CD gives info not just for the SSR but the entire GM lineup.

I like and recommend the paper because it has one thing the CD dosen't, an index.

beer100....where can I purchase the service manual? I went back to the service manager and he printed out the airbag removal directions, but they are so sketchy, and i still could not find the upper bolts they said to remove! Got the right cluster this time, but still no luck in removing the airbag.
