Just wondering if anyone has ever tried powder coating the factory wheels?
Thinking about trying to do it in black; is it possible?

You can powder coat but painting will work just as well by a good shop.
I would think that paint might chip easier than powder coating.

You're right, but you can touch up the painted wheel much easier.

Consider black with blue pearl in the clearcoat. The highlights would be awesome. You can actually put a combination of blue and red pearl in the clearcoat and end up with a purple pearl.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the color ideas, I'll keep them in mind. I'll be checking on some places that can do this in the near future. Just hate to put my vehicle on stands for how ever long it takes.

Are you planning an accent color or flames or pinstriping? Or are you after the all black look?

Powdercoating

Is great, but if you're doing the factory wheels, you can't do the center caps because they are plastic.
