Dane can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's a vintage (circa 1950's) chevy pickup tailgate (similar to the one pictured below) that can be used to create a retro-style SSR tailgate.

Yeah, I didn't see Larry anywhere in the picture 😜. Your tailgate is '54 and later. The '47-'53 'Os' were more round. Yours is more square, thus '54

Yep, the "C" is rounder as well. Hopefully Dane (@oldxr) can post a picture. I think the "conversion" looks very cool and have thought about doing that.
