I am getting ready to purchase a 05 or 06 but need to measure the rear cargo area. Instead of me going down to the dealer with a tape measure can anyone supply me with the rear cargo dimesions:

Total bed length (inside) with the gate up.
Width at the widest and narrowest points.
Bed height with the cover down.

Last how easy or hard is it to take the rear hard cover off and on?

Thanks.

With two people, quite easy. One alone, forget it, it's just too awkard to handle. The chances of dinging something are about 1:1.

One might be able to if he has some kind of lift system of cables pullies and counter weights.

When I had my custom bed carpet made, and later when packing for my trips, I had to take some measurements:

Lenght of usable bed with tailgate closed: 51 inches
Minimum width of usable bed between inner walls: 42.25 inches
Minimum hieght (it varies): 16.25 inches

Be especially careful to never load anything too high into the bed - ESPECIALLY near the hinges. You will easily bend the hinges and thus permanently wreck the weather seal, because of the immense leverage when you slam that heavy lid shut over the obstacle.

I have never yet tried to take the lid off. If you that, the vehicle will accelerate noticebaly quicker, as that lid is HEAVY.
