Beautiful, I knew this site would be helpful. Actaull I have been opening the tailgate and then shutting the cover until one of the so called R&D gusy at work saw me and said i didnt need to do this. I printed out your picture kwhopper89 and will be making many many copies and paste them in his office.
Thanks!!!

I left the tag hanging in the bed - right where the Lansing Craft centre folks put it! The day I took delivery of my SSR - the dealership was closing it incorrectly - and couldn't explain why it was so hard to shut - until I pointed out the tag!

I left it there for any other dealership that MAY work on my SSR!

Great idea - wish I had saved mine - I think I'll print yours out and stick it under the cargo top. :thumbs

One addition photo of the tag - and also did anybody that has displayed at their SSR at a show realize that there are built in hooks for coat hangers on the underside of the cover?

(OK OK - not the intended use of the hooks - but a useful feature none the less...)

Man ...
the one thing I really hate about openning and closing the back deck are the hand prints you leave behind :-( Try to keep it all nice and smooth look'n and POW .... paw prints on the top and back deck from closing it :-(

Anyone found a way around that yet ? Or just wash the truck every other day like me

hand prints

Keep a little bottle of instant detailer and a rag handy. It takes paw prints off real quick.

Hey Brownhornet - are you a fed employee too? Me - Treasury Dept...

I bought my stuff when it was still at ssrstuff.com - before I even took delivery of my SSR. The shirt was ordered directly from Hawaii (Reyns.com???). I also bought the limited edition signed posters (#'s 81 and 278 of 500) and had one signed by the dealership that sold me my SSR. I also have the 1st signed SSR book...

Too much other stuff to mention - BUT, looks like with all the new stuff at chevymall, I'll have to make a major purchase...

Marc,

PM me with a mailing address and email address - I'll burn a cd for ya...

Did ya notice that there were a few Hawiian shirts being worn at the Woodward gatherin'? After I bought mine, I saw a photo of Rick Wagoner - way back when the SSR was just a concept - wearing one sitting in an SSR!...

Was downtown last night (pop 10k town - so downtown is rather small) and stopped in to see a buddy that runs a '50's stuff store - they invited me to their 'private' car show - first weekend of Oct. They have a 'restored' gas station on their property at home. They were kind enough to let me use their place for a photo shoot a few months back...

OK - the SSR is detailed - time to drive - have a great weekend all...

restored gas station

Hi Kwhopper, My sister-in-law met the people that own that 50's Place and we had my brother's birthday party out there last January. They have a really neat place and are really neat people. The party was just a month after I picked up my SSR so it was a big hit at the party. Had to put the top up and down several times.

You're the One

Hey, they told me about you and your SSR!

REALLY great people... I was parked next to them at a car show in Morro Bay last April - they are great 'car crazy' folks...

When you come back this way - we'll have to meet up!

I see that we took delivery of our SSR's exactly one week apart!

In regards to closing the tonu without leaving marks, I keep a terry cloth in the back and, owning a black SSR, the tonu is way to hot to touch on a sunny day, so I just use the terry towel to close the tonu. To keep "Paw Prints" off the tailgate, I use the palm of my hand placed on the red brake light and push up to close the tail gate. No paw prints!:)

Rear lid closing

Just bought a red SSR - 2004! I am unable to close the lid as detailed in the owners manual. I close the tailgate first and then the lid. Took it to the local Chevy dealer and they agreed that closing the the lid first would make it very difficult if not damaging to then close the tailgate! They were as clueless as I am though as they only sold 3 there and not recently.

Any one else had this problem. I am reluctant to force close the tailgate after the lid!:ssr
