Everyone,

This weekend I installed a remote starter and additional alarm on my SSR. Everything works great! Now I can start the car and either warm it up or cool it down before I get in. Also the additional alarm (also has shock sensors) gives added protection. Anyone wishing to take the vehicle has to overcome both the factory alarm and the additional alarm.

Nevertheless, during the installation, the installer and I were definitely on the same wavelength because we both thought wouldn't it be great if we could raise and lower the top using one of the controls on the remote. We speculated on how this could be done. He is checking on some things and will get back to me.

However, has anyone already done this to their SSR? Do you have a way to remotely raise and lower the top? How was it done and how much did it cost you? Any undesired results?

Thanks :seeya :flag

There is a person in florida on the site that has been able to do that. He has posted it in earlier threads. He said that he had to do a lot of rewiring. Luckly he owns the sound shot that did the work. Main thing is to bypass the parking break system that keeps the top from going up or down with out your foot of the break.

You might be able to do a search on the site for this info.

My SSR Photos

It auto starts and I can put the top up or down and even stop anywhere I want it to. VIPER 791 XV or you can get the Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5 or 2.1? They are now made by the same company.

:cool I had it done on my 03 I just sold sat. alarm, remote start, Top up and down, remote pageing, quiktrip mode, inside vehicle temp, and time of day backlit display on main fob works up to 2000' away. so alarm will also chirp and vibrate fob in pocket if you are in a mall store or eating dinner. even shows where they are tring to get in at door trunk hood roof glass. this is a model 855 autopage system had it about 6mo. before I sold the SSR saturday. no problems. cost was $850 installed took 3 days, 1 day was for head scratching to figure out getting around brakes and such. and of course it would pop the back cover open also. had to add a couple relays to get around the brakes. hope this helps. i can give you the # to whom done mine if your alarm person wants to ask him ?s :thumbs

I Would Love to have the Person's Contact Number

BobA,

I would love to have the person's contact number. My alarm person is Victor Kelly of Victor Kelly Alarms in Victorville. I was talking to him a few moments ago and he said he would be willing to call people who have done this before.

Thanks :thumbs :flag :seeya
