is there any such thing? hit a curb and blew a tire out. i am more pissed about the scratched rim than the tire. aughhhh

There are wheel refinishing places that can make it as good as new! I had a set of Boyd Coddington wheels and my wife hit a curb and after it was fixed, you couldn't tell it from the others.

About 200 bucks!

Buffy: Remember I mentioned to you my TWO instances of car wash damage here in Atlanta, and how a MOBILE (comes to YOU with big fully equipped truck!) service made the wheel just like new each time?

The business name and contact info is:
Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists, Inc.
770-903-1236 or his cell no. is 404-732-4681
His name is Tye Pfifer.

Tye is a really nice young man, and his repair charges were VERY, very reasonable.
His work is PERFECT - you absolutely cannot see any clue that there ever was any damage, and his customer service is a delight.

He comes to you with a van in which he has paint formulas, paint mixing equipment, and a baking light setup. He jacks up your vehicle, removes the wheel, does the repair in the van, replaces the air with EXACTLY what you had in the tire, and remounts the wheel. Total time: under 1 hour for a typical repair, maybe 1.5 hours for a harder one.

I doubt that he wants to drive all the way to Arrowhead Golf Course (despite the beuty of your neighborhood!), but I'm sure he would be happy to meet you in say the northern suburbs of Atlanta.

My wife is here this week, so if you and your wife wanted to come down and visit us, you could probably have the wheel repaired during the visit!

ykp53: My error. In thought BUFFY had damaged his wheel (he lives north of Atlanta).

I'm sure there are wheel repair services in your area as well. Try contacting some of the car dealerships, especially the higher end ones, who often use such services to recondition trade-ins and damaged new cars.

wheel touch up color

I AM NOT AWARE OF A 'TOUCH UP " PAINT, BUT HERE ARE THE REFINISH CODES PER GM BULLETIN #1545669
DUPONT 140L
MARTIN SENOUR 69147 (NAPA)
PPG 907240
SHERMAN WILLIAMS 69147
AZKO NOBLE GMA 9501

YOU WILL LIKELY WANT TO GET IT IN A SINGLE STAGE PAINT, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY CLEAR. I GOT MINE FROM NAPA IN THIER CROSSFIRE BRAND OF PAINT. IT REQUIRES HARDNER. I HAD ONLY A PINT MIXED FOR 16.00

HOPE THIS HELPS. JUST GO TO THE CRAFT DEPT OF A RETAIL STORE AND BUY SOME VERY SMALL BRUSHES. IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL APPLICATIONS USUALLY TO FILL THE VOID LEFT BY THE GOUGING.

When I bought mine, the dealer had originally put weights on the rim!!! Then took them off and put them inside the wheel where they are suppose to be! It left a mark when they pryed them off so the dealer has them now repairing them for me! I pick it up tomorrow. they sent them to a wheel specialist, so I'm sure there's one in Atlanta somewhere, just contact your dealer for info or a big tire company probly knows too!!
Attention SSR owner's don't use the Car Wash companies that "roll" your car as they wash it!! The rear tires are too big and will scrape them!!!
Hand wash your baby! you'll be glad you did!

Rick - you have attached to an old thread about wheel paint repair.
You should start a new thread - Entitle it something like "Louisville Service Tech Advice"
