Only a few more days

This show is coming up fast.

They have 16 classes set up of which the SSR's would be included in the 2wd truck class.

At this time you will do just as well to pay registration at the gate, as the deadline for preregistration is passed. Registration is only $7.00.

This is avery large moose hall and has plenty of grassy parking for the show cars.

I will be shuttling four of my own vehicles to the show. The SSR of course, MY 72 COBRAJET, 1990 GMC custom sportside 4x4, and the wifes Kandy Tangerine 2002 GMC ext cab 4x4.

wipurplechick is also coming down for this show. Anyone eles in the area is welcome to come, and have a cook out at my place after the show.

Time and goodies?

Hi, Fuzzy-What time should we plan to be there?

Also, what can we bring for the cookout? Any preferences?? If not, it'll be cook's choice!

Cool!

Sounds like you knew my husband already! He drinks Miller High Life!

We're really looking forward to being there. We've never been in a show before...so, we're not sure what to do or what to expect.

But, we'll be there to learn and to have a good time!

Thanks!

I'm bringing dessert

Hey, Fuzzy-I made caramel swirl chocolate brownies for dessert. The smell drove my husband NUTS all evening--especially when I said that we're saving them for the car show!

:lol

See you tomorrow!!

What a great day

Started off shuttling my vehicles up to the show. By the time I arrived with the last one Wipurplechick (Deb) and her husband (Nick) were there cleaning their SSR.

This was the first show that Deb and Nick had ever attended let alone particpate in. Naturally they had questions about what to do. Told them to just make it as clean as possible and if they see the judges come around to talk ot them a little.

What a great couple. They're both very light hearted people, just fun to be around. We spent the day chatting and looking at vehicles, and talking about what's going on on the web site.

They had door prize drawing all day and three separate 50/50 drawing (one of which I won :thumbs ). A DJ was spinning tunes all day also.

Temps crept into the 90"s with a lot of humidity, but a slight breeze every once in a while.

At the awards Deb was surpised to find that she had won a trophy in our class. she was so happy. CONGRATULATIONS :thumbs Deb and Nick.
Of the four vehicles I shuttled to the show only one received an award and it was my Wife's 2002 GMC ext cab 4x4. I was fine with this, as I understood the idea of one trophy per person. People would get upset if I were to take three or four trophies from the show. Deb didn't understand this until I explaned it this way.

Afterwards we shuttled my vehicles back to the house.. I let Nick drive my wife's truck back (he was all smiles when we got to the house). He says he could really get used to that. Then on the next trip back he drove my 1990 GMC. I think he was more comfortable in the wifes truck. Mine doesn't have A/C.

We then put the Brats on the grill and chatted while they were cooking. After dinner the kids showed Deb how to shoot the paintball gun. We have items we use out back for tartget practice (old shed, snowmobile, kids kitchen play set, etc)

Then we pulled the SSR's over to the park and snapped a few pics before they headed back to Arkdale.

Now it's off to bowling for the wife and I (first night of couples league)

Here's a few shots from the day.

Congrats Deb!

Deb-Congrats on winning a trophy! That's great news. Not bad for your first time out. :thumbs

Sounds like you guys had a great day! Fuzzy and Kim are great people as I had meet them for the Homecoming.

Deb-How did you like the paintball guns? Every year at my Mom's in upper Michigan we get togehter for a paintball war in the woods behind her house. I have many a bruise from those darn things.

Thanks for the pictures! It's always nice to see an event as it's happening.

We're still on cloud nine!

We had such an awesome time yesterday!!

From the time we rolled onto the grounds until we left Fuzzy and Kim's home, we could feel the friendship and comaraderie from everyone.

We met so many cool folks--Fuzzy's dad Buzzard brought his 2004 'Vette to the show and we had a great conversations with him...a gent who converted a LeMans frame to a GTO Hot Wheels Tiger Stripe replica car came by and invited all of us to his place for a GTO club party after the show...the Rock-N-Moose organizers were extremely friendly and just a gas to talk to...what a fun day! And that was just at the show grounds!

When we got to Fuzzy's home, Kim had everything ready and was starting to precook the brats in beer and onions. She is cool--very easy to talk to, with an quick smile and warm heart. Their kids, Stormy and Travis, are wonderful. Storm talked to me about her class schedule, her violin playing and introduced me to the family pets. And she was the one who showed me how to operate the paint gun--let me tell you, the girl's got a good eye and a steady hand! I would not want to be on the receiving end if she's firing, 'cause she hits what she's aiming for!

Hotrodgirl--I liked the guns! I had no idea what to expect with them-Kim let me feel one of the paintballs before it got loaded into the gun, because I really had no clue as to whether they'd be hard/semi-soft, etc...I can imagine the bruises they leave--they made a pretty good SMACK against all the targets!! But I'd want to practice a LOT before I got into any competition, especially if Storm's in it!!

Here's something that Fuzzy DIDN'T share with everyone -- there were a LOT of vehicles at the show with gorgeous exteriors....done by Fuzzy. Folks, the man is a master. His Friend Jeff brought a Camaro there that Fuzzy repainted that made people stop in their tracks and just say, WOW. His artistry was everywhere, and all of it was GREAT. And, for everyone who hasn't seen his SSR in person-let me tell you, the pictures do not do it justice. Everything is coordinated and detailed, and it really was a labor of love to him.

He showed us paint chips and gave us LOTS of ideas for painting our truck-- and I think we have it narrowed down to two or three at this point--which is a good start. We feel very fortunate to have him within a few hours of us, and to know he'll do such a great job when we DO figure out what we want!

Winning a trophy was totally unexpected, but such a great thing. It just added to an already perfect day! Thanks for the Congrats!!!

Fuzzy & Kim--thanks AGAIN for EVERYTHING. We're so glad we got to finally meet in person. Remember, when you're heading NORTH, let us know--you're always welcome here. Come and visit...stay overnight...whenever you can. Our door is always open....

The pictures turned out great. We've already saved them to our hard drive and will be printing out a couple to frame!
