Been working on this problem.

The roof will not latch or unlatch. Must do it manually. And open the flaps manually.

If unlatched manually the top goes down and move the flaps manually .. go down and the flaps latch.

Going up the roof will make it to the top but not latch and the flaps do not move.

What we have done:

check for short in wires to HES switches on flaps from connector to the HES's.

Check the micro switches in latching assembly. all working according to the meter.

Check the micros in the flaps on each side of the compartment.

Because the piston on the passenger's side broke from the small flap and had to be put back on... could the HES switches been damaged?

Would the HES switch on the top of the passenger main hydraulic effect the roof latches. We did replace the hydraulics before our problems and we had the broken flap bracket... so we are looking for the cause of our problems. I know two things.... one big problem.

Any help?

Gut feeling is you are on the right track, but will let the specialists make the final determination. @Autoprof & @Dicktator

Check to see if you reinstalled the bracket that holds the piston correctly. We had it happen on one we worked on.

Roof Latch

Have you checked for power at the roof latch actuator and confirmed that the roof latch actuator moves with 12 volts applied to the motor?

Also, the HES are Hall Effect Sensors, not switches per se. They measure magnetic fields and are passive in doing so (unlike a switch that has multiple positions). In our roof systems they determine the positions of the hydraulic cylinders and that information is relayed to the RDM, ensuring that items like the tonneau cover and flipper lid are in the correct positions before the RDM allows the next roof operation in the opening or closing sequence to occur.
