Anyone have info on DIY repair/repaint of orginal Running Boards for our R's???

Lots of info in past threads about this topic. You can use the search bar at the top of the page find threads.
As for my running boards, I had them coated with Line-X spray bad liner. I'm pleased with the look and they're tough as nails.

Running board rubber film

see attached photo. My running boards have developed a white/grey film. I've tried 0000 steel wool, solvents, Simple Green, lots elbow grease. Nothing seems work. Any suggestions?
