Gettin' closer! Bill any idea what colours are coming, it would be great if we had all the solid colours a two/tone would be a bonus.

Erik,
Sorry for my slow response...grand-daughter-sitting all weekend...they kept us busy!
Can only speak to the six I know personally and I've added them to the list in post 2. If anyone else would like their SSR colour posted, LMK here or with a PM.

Swiss chalet anyone? Two weeks to go!

"There are lots of restaurants around the parking lot so finding a place to eat will be easy, but if you'd like to eat as a group, please indicate here and we'll make a reservation at Swiss Chalet." (from post#1)

If you're interested in eating as a group at Swiss Chalet and haven't already indicated, please LMK...especially if a large group wants to dine together, we'll need to make a reservation.

Updated! Thanks for letting us know...making the reservation is a bit tricky unless we have a pretty good idea who's coming to dinner!
A lot of the people on the list networked through Barry rather than the Fanatics Forum and he says most he's talked to are planning to "Swiss Chalet". We're thinking a reservation for 30.

Week to Go Update

Reservation is made at Swiss Chalet for 7:15 for 25 people.
Thornhill Cruisers (the Cruise Night Hosts) will give us 15 adjacent parking spots for the Rs. Apparently, Thornhill Cruisers will throw in some extra draw prizes just for our group. Plan to arrive around 5:00 (2900 Major Mackenzie Drive E) and look for the SSRs.
We're sharing the spotlight for the night with an MG group...
Dave at Thornhill Cruisers told me they've cancelled almost half of their nights this year because of lousy weather. If the weather is bad,:frown2: Thornhill Cruisers will contact me and we'll announce postponement to the following Monday night as early as possible in the day.
So polish up your R and cross your fingers for good weather:party

Gathering of the Rs Day

Prayers for good weather appear to have been answered and Gathering Day is here and a GO!
Just got off the phone with Barry Pattison who has an amazing network with the S Ontario SSR community and he thinks we my have a many as 20 SSRs for dinner!!! Try to arrive around 5:00 p.m. and look for the SSR gathering so you can park with us. David Helman from Thornhill Cruisers and I will set out 20 side-by-side spots for SSRs and all you need to do is find us and park...I'll be there by 4:30 and if you're early, my SSR is Aqua.
Barry is bringing two SSRs...a red one driven by wife Betty and a silver one for himself.
These three should be easy to find until the gathering grows.
Pay as you go dinner is booked at Swiss Chalet for 715...just tell the restaurant you're with the SSR group...we will make the reservation for 35 people.:party
Any last minute questions, you can call me at 416-702-2780

"No Rules, No Fees, No Memberships"! 18 R's and Happy Owners

Thanks to organizer Barry Pattison's amazing network of S Ontario "R" owners, 18 of the rare beasts and owners gathered at the Thornhill Cruisers Cruise Night and later at the local Swiss Chalet for dinner. This probably makes the gathering the biggest gathering of Canadian "R"s outside of rallys. A good time was had by all.
The Thornhill Cruisers gave us our own draw prizes and announced us as the SSR Car Club. But, if we're a club at all, it's a club, according to Barry with "No Rules, No fees, No Memberships", a club charter he picked up from the Florida SSR group. It's also a group that took up almost half of the Cruise Night parking area!
Krazy Ed called the weather perfectly "It won't rain!",he said, as dark clouds gathered in the west, SSR tops were raised and people "smelled, felt and thought" raindrops. Krazy Ed was right!
It was a marvellous night to renew friendships with SSR friends and make new SSR friends.
To top it all off, Barry and Betty Pattison won the Thornhill Cruisers 50-50!
We'll try to make it happen again!
Attached are a few photos. Please post if you have more.

What a great get together.

See you next time!
Bill
Hope this developes into something. Great opportunity to see and meet some fellow fanatics mid-week.
John and Carol's T's say it all. Gotta get one. So cool. My invited guests Ron and Pat came in another slingshot R and believe Ron is now a family member. Great Outing. Thanks to all for the warm welcome from 3 serious ncrs guys. Looking forward to the next one!!
