The windows screensaver called "pipes" has a setting to allow you select a texture to be painted on each pipe as it is generated.

The picks are Desktop>rt-click>select properties>tab screensaver> dropdown to 3d pipes > settings> choose texture.

Any bitmap picture of the types bmp, jpg, tga, png can be selected.

Download the one I've attached, or make one of your own. The picuture needs to be tiled otherwise the image is wrapped all around the pipe and most is not visible.

Very cool. I had to change the file to a bitmap (bmp) and shrink it down to 1024 wide from 1025 but then it worked great. Neat trick.

:cheers

3D Flying Objects

This will work for 3D Flying Objects, also. Take any .bmp (or use .jpg but save it as a .bmp file) and use the "textured flag" style and then select the .bmp for the "texture" setting. Use "preview" to see what it will look like.
