Hi Fanatics,

I'm searching for a data sheet from GM or Chevrolet which shows the official hauled load, tensile load, even every load data of the hitch for the SSR.
I have the problem that I must do an acceptance test for the hitch if I want to get a registration in the title and I need that to have the allowance to use the hitch in Germany... :banghead
The clerks from the Technical Inspection Agency want to have an official data sheet to give me the registration. It's annoying!

Maybe somebody know where I could get this data sheet?

Maya,
You might send a PM to Mr. Yat since he was a provider of the hitch as an after market unit. I believe he had them made and would have the specs.

Good luck.

Does'nt the hitch have a data plate showing the towable weight and the tongue weight limits? Pm me and I can email you a picture of mine.
Jim:):purple::)

Sure, the hitch has a plate with all towing data on it....
but I'm in Germany :jester

In Germany you need for everything a piece of paper...
you give a white paper to the clerk from the Technical Control Board.
He writes the text from the white paper (because when the information is still on a white paper, it's not allowed yet... no, no!) onto a blue paper!
And you pay 50 Euro for the blue paper... now it's allowed!

It drives you crazy... this bureau"crazy" madness we have over here. :glol :willy:

Seeing that we have decided to tow my dads corvette with our old beamer...
it's allowed to tow 2000 kg... it's the easier way!

Thank you all for your informations :seeya

Hallo Bianca!

Sorry: I wrote that in Austria (about 200 miles from MayatheBee) I had the allowance to use the hitch in my papers, but with only 2500 lbs.
However I tow my car- and horsetrailer with no problems.

One of the reasons the bow tie vehicles have always impressed me is the over-kill on the engineering side of so much of what they manufacture.

The SSR may be one of the best tow vehicles chevy has ever made. Everyday boat towing with my Avalanche was rendered painfully inadequit after two cross country boat towing trips with our SSR. The trailer, a single axel rig with gross weight of about one ton. The only limitaions I was concerned with was how secure the boat was to the trailer. We have a stock 2005 6 speed manual with the optional trailer hitch. The forged draw bar with the cnc machined coupling is a thing of beauty.

Edited to add; Sorry maya, I know this was no help to your request other than possibly providing some more proof of what this truck can tow. I can honestly tell anyone that this truck is a better tow vehicle for this application than my Z71 Avalanche. Not more practicle, just a more secure tow vehicle.
