This is my first posting, very new to the site, I registered last week after picking up my new SSR VIN# 201 Red. The reason for the post is in our small town in Canada there are 2 SSR's; mine and a black one in the town just to the north of me. The gentleman that own's the black one also manufactures exhaust systems; his SSR was in my buddy's body shop getting a totally cool flame job. The paint was finished today and delivered to his plant. I went to see the paint job & noticed AIR SUSPENSION, and the rear valence had the exhaust hole filled in waiting for SIDE PIPES. Pictures to follow.

That is one reason I like the sound of the Axiom design. The are supposed to come with electronic in-dash diverters of exhaust to side pipes on demand. It will give you the look but only have to run them when you want to. I need to find out if they will work if the running boards are on.

Pipes

Sidepipes can be cool (so to speak) in the right situation. My old S-10 was great with them. Everyone in the family except me got burned on them, so caution is advised.

1983 Chevy S-10, 2.8l V6, 5 speed tranny, Western wheels, cut coils for 2" front drop, 3 inch lowering blocks in the rear, Edelbrock intake, Holley 390 cfm 4 bbl carb, Hooker headers, JC Whitney chrome (el-cheapo) sidepipes.

Side pipes

I have further info on the side pipe SSR
The black VIN# 301 is being showcased at the SEMA show in Vegas.
From what I saw not much else was being done to the car. The hood will be closed becase the engine is stock. The cockpit is stock but for the Air Ride controls in the ash tray. Only othe thing that was noticable was the differential had a cool cast cover or the rear end was modified. They are trying to keep the car under a security blanket for the unvieling in Vegas but my camera and my SSR are headed North to try to scoop a few shots. By the way nice burn.
If I do get pictures I will need assistance from somebody to display at this site.

Hey, Scott

Welcome to the SSR fold - is yours a Canadian truck, or a US import - I've got 567, and wondering how many in Canada have a lower number.

Does the SSR you mentioned have a full 4 corner air ride? - That's one of the reasons I'm going to SEMA. I want to use mine as a short distance tow truck for my boats, and thinking the full air ride is the way to go. I'd like feedback from someone using it as to ride quality.

Haven't been out that way in years - used to spend some time at Port Sandfield back when I was a rep for all of Canada for a ski boat line - great area. Was in Bala a couple of times - demoing a boat to Jim - oops - lost the last name - his son was a pretty high end skier back in the late 80s.

Looking forward to SEMA - leaving next Friday - making it a two week road trip in the SSR. Are you headed that way?

Canadian SSR

The SSR from Huntsville Ontario is a 4 corner air ride, I have been unable to contact the owner. I am sure he has his hands full trying to get the truck together for SEMA. Therefore I cannot comment on ride quality. This Sema truck would not be a daily driiver so I am going with Ground Force for now. Alignment is a concern for me.
My SSR was picked up by me at GM Canada's head office in Oshawa.
.While on the lot looking for my Redline VIN#201 I noticed two other trucks with lower build numbers. Both Black #79 & #102. In the lot there are at least 10 maybe 15 executive SSR's available Black Red Yellow only
VIN#102 has the same key cut as mine because I opened the door, but I was unable to start her up. ALARM ALARM Have a good time at SEMA I will be at home working. SCOTT

SEMA bound SSR side pipes 650 H.P.

Further update on SEMA SSR
On sunday I found my into the brand new factory of MBRP Performance Exhaust.
In the work bays were the side piped SSR and a Chev P.U. totally pimped.
Both headed to SEMA.
On my last threads I onyl speculated on the side piped SSR.
he facts are this:

Air Ride by Air Ride (off the shelf kit)
24" Asanti wheels
Drive line by Ultimate in Lansing
MBRP Side pipes
Flames by Mike Blakely Bracbridge Ontario
Hahn Racecraft motor 650 HP at the rear wheels
Car will be on display at the Lexani Wheels Booth

I have taken many pictures of this custom but sadly do not know how to post pictures

The Black SSR is build #317
The side pipes require frame mods
Martin Barkey the owner of MBRP allowed me to hang around and be present for the fire up of this prototype. OOOOOO my god IT SOUNDS GOOD! Scott

I'm new to the forum here ,I stopped in to share a little info about the Canadian SSR that was done in Bracebridge! My name is Ron Gibbs ,Scott I am a custom painter and I am the one who flamed the SSR for Martin at MBRP Exhaust .I have a few GM vehicles on display at SEMA this year including a Dually that is lifted and two tone silver and black with a HOK orange flame separating the two colours ,a 4 door 4x4 S10 with marbleized tribal flames ,The GoodMark Chevy Nova that I flamed on Dream Car Garage on Speed Channel ,and the Black Magic bagged S10 which is two tone black and red with silver tribal graphic flames separating the two colours.I have some pics of the SSR in basecoat flames and striped but not cleared yet if I can figure out how to post them I'd love to share them with you. They are traditional style flames all in HOK pearls yellow through shades of orange ,pinstriped in blue!
