I've searched the threads for problems with the door vibrating/rattling when enjoying the music turned up a little. Okay... a lot. Lots of us seem to have this problem but I couldn't find a solution posted anywhere. My '05 door rattles so the changes to the '05 door panel didn't fix it. Has anyone found a solution to this yet? It is driving me crazy now that the weather is so wonderful I'm enjoying the top down and the radio up. My solution so far is to press my leg against the door and the rattle stops but I am not thrilled with my solution to say the least.

Please let me know any ideas. Thanks!

Same here

I just got my SSR last week and the passenger side door is already rattling.. I thought I blew the speaker..Glad to know I didn't. Please somebody pipe up and tell us that your dealer fixed this!
With the experience I had with my dealer so far I'd be suprized if the honored the warranty. (sorry for the negativity)
Have a great day with the top down.

Dealer Fix

I have talked to the dealer where I bought the car (negative experience) and the other dealer that I know and trust from years of dealing with them. Nobody knows how to fix this and it is both of my doors. Your speaker is not blown. When you have a passenger in the car have them press on the door panel and it will stop. Chevy needs to address this issue and fix it. In the threads there are several who have experienced this. Looks like there is no dealer fix for it. I'm looking to buy another Chevy or GMC truck with GMS so I'll talk to the dealers around town while I'm looking.

My recipe for tunes in the SSR

2 Kenwood 4" 2 ways for the doors
2 Kenwood 4" 2 ways for behind the seats
Bass blockers for the large door speakers <-- this really stops the rattles

Simmer until well done. Add in one Kenwood powered sub and stir well. Serves 2.

Tweeter??

I thought I'd talk to a local stereo shop before I messed witht the dealer.....
They stuck thier heads down to it and told be that I had blown my tweeter and what I was hearing was the scratching of the voice coil. I don't believe that... I'm going to try the dynomatting and sealing.

Hey that subwoofer is awesome!!! I think I'll put one behind EACH seat!

MY SSR WAS BROAD-SIDED (JUST THE PASSENGERS DOOR) LAST MONTH. THAT FIXED THE SPEAKER RATTLE THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIX...... I DON'T RECOMMEND THAT CURE UNLESS YOU'RE THE ADVENTURIOUS TYPE. IT'S NOW BEEN ONE WEEK IN THE SHOP (AGAIN!) TO GET THE TOP WORKING CORRECTLY... MAYBE I SHOULD ROLL IT THIS TIME? STEVE

Ouch!!! I don't think I like that fix at all. Sorry to hear about it. It looks like I'll be going to stereo shop to take care of this problem myself. At least I know I'm not the only one with this problem. The sad part is that since this has been an existing problem with SSR's - you would think GM would come up with a fix by now.

Blown speaker?

I had door rattle when the radio was cranked...now that I have dual 10" subs in I don't notice the rattle in the doors at all......but I did also have blown speakers in the driver's side door....I almost always have the radio cranked full volume.

what? I can't hear you..... :lol :lol :lol
