Got new ssr friday ready for more power. It is a 04 auto trans 5.3 pooch. LS6 crate motor will take care of that problem but what torque converter? blown for sure and 3:73 should wake this thing up.

GMfixer -- There is alot of information in the technical discussion forum --- believe me most of the areas have or will be addressed in fine detail --just participate and you will get info. I'm curious as why you would go to the trouble of installing a LS6 when you could install a Magnacharger easier and for slightly less coin and make more power. The SSR comes with a 3:73 rear gear and the first item to install would be at least a 4:56 or higher numbered gear. Just my $.02 worth! Good luck with your ride!!!

LS6 great idle, factory reliable crate motor. and a pretty good deal. I can get blower kit cheap too.

Unless you sink $25k into it you will only have a fast SSR. You will not be out there outrunning tuned vettes, Cobra's, lightings or about any other of the sport cars.

Unless you really tweak it you won't be able to outrun a new Chrysler 300 with the hemi..
