Sounds like a ground problem. The starter pulls all of the available power but with out a proper ground you lose connection and that is why the clock and radio lose power. Go back and check and clean the frame where the ground cable attaches, also the bolt an lubricate. Check the connection at the ground to the body also. Pull both positive and ground connections at the battery.

I will try In the morning, thanks
Both versions of the SSR, '03/04 and '05/06, have numerous body grounds. Look in Dicktators repair manual online and I believe he maps out the various grounds. I know I have seen them detailed somewhere, but with the starter hesitating it is probably a main cable problem. Also check both wires at the starter solenoid and both connections at the battery to make sure that they are clean and tight. With a new ground cable, it should be OK, but it never hurts to be sure. A couple of issues with year old batteries have been detailed in the last couple of weeks in different threads. Good luck.

The clock reset indicates that the main power is being interrupted momentarily. Could be the positive or negative cable.... I would put a meter on the positive terminal of the fuse box and monitor the bus voltage when trying to crank it. If that shows a big voltage dip, put the meter on the battery terminals and do it again. If it dips there, yank the battery out and have it tested for cold cranking amps. Could very well be that battery.......

BOY! I'll be glad when we go to "ALL ELECTRIC" vehicles, only need two "D" battery to "jump" start your R.

New Battery in Florida last 6 months to 4 years, depending on how HOT it gets.
