Supercharged SSr=Ford Lightning?

I was just over to the corvette forum and they had quite a thread going on the Ford Lightning in comparison to the C6 vette.
The Lightning has 5.4 supercharged liters at 380 h.p. and a LOAD of torque. It weighs in at 4700 lbs. Turns the 1/4 mile @ 13.4 and 103 mph. I was wondering if any of you guys with the supercharged 5.3's had similar e.t. results. Also what kind of torque do the supercharged 5.3 liter Chevys have in comparison. It would be interesting to see what it would take to make an SSR comparable to a Lightning in power but also in handling. I understand by the thread on the vette forum that the Lightning performs excellently on a road course. I think it would be great if there are performance modifications (within reason) that would make an SSR excelerate and handle like the Lightning. Anyone out there with some input. :)

I replaced an '04 L with my '05 SSr LS2 - 6 Speed and while I love my SSr the L with its 10 lbs of boost from the factory will run rings around the SSr. I don't believe that adding a S/C (Magnuson) would get the job done. The Mag with the provide stock pullies only put out about 5-5.5 Lbs of boost that should get you max 80-100 HP. Granted the L is only 380 HP but it's torque on low end is fantastic while the SSr's power band is 4000+ rpm. Once you get in that range and can shift without dropping to many RPM you can do OK but the L is long gone by then.

I have the Mag S/C on my LS1 6-speed Vette with Cam/header and differnt pully (7-7.2 lbs) and I know it will beat a factory L :) :)

I can't speak for a ProCharger on the 5.3 SSr's but I think L would still be hard to beat.

If you want to have a FUN FUN ride the add the Mag S/C but don't expect it to be a top notch DRAG RACER.

Just my $.02
