I've got to put a few road miles on my SSR today, and after the normal break in period, let her have her head just a bit!!! My question is, on the plus side of 100 mph the T/C lite came on, I then eased off the gas and on the minus side of 100 the lite went off. Normal?? I didn't try it a second time.

Traction Control

I know someone else has posted that the TC turns off at a high speed but don't remember the number. Don't have time to search the forum now but I know I've read it.

It is normal - mine did it several times somewhere north of 85 mph - can't remember the exact number.

T/C light

I think you must have read about it in your operators manual. In there it states that at speeds above 110 the t/c light will come on indicating that the traction control function is off.I checked it out and such is true! I must admit that it was scary to see any lights come on the dash at that speed.

Thanks Guys, I didn't remember reading about it in my manuel, I'll be going back to reread it today. Yes, it was a bit scarry seeing it come on at speed (profesional driver on closed track, don't try this at home).

Bob - Did you reprogram the chip to turn off the speed limiter? I know the governor on the '04 kicks in at 126. The traction control does turn off at 100 MPH. I first noticed this on the test drive. Scary feeling winding up a car that you don't own and seeing a light turn on on the dash :eek Then again I don't know if I want the car to start aplying the brakes when I am cruising at 110. :willy:

If your running the automatic and drop it all the way down into 1st manually ... the T/C will turn off as well. Not sure why ? But oh well. Have noticed on dry ground that those 295's do NOT let go for anything !! But when it's good and wet outside .... off the line the tranni will shift into 3rd before the tires hook up again ;-) With no power brake.

RISSR; I have magnacharger on it. a superchips vin coded programmer came with it. guess the programmer changed it if thats the case. wh en i am out playing around with ssr i always turn tc off. if i do not ssr feels like it is going to fall on it's face when a little xtra pedal is givin. like ssr just died. wet pvement I leave tc on because tires spin far to easy then.
BobA :cheers

T/C light goes out at 90 miles per hour.
