I got their attention today in the area since most of the dealers had one left each. I signed the paperwork on a '04 yellow #9035 - $29,200 tonight.
MSRP was $45,325 - wasn't much of a choice between it and the silver one (No offense to silver owners but I don't think it is as cool as the others...)
Based on what I heard this is about as good as it gets?!

4 miles on the odometer but it was shaky when I took it out for a drive. Dealer said it would get 'flatspots' on the tires from being in the showroom for 7 months - anyone else get that? If it doesn't clear up by 500 miles, I guess they replace the tires - n/c. Anyone have any winter storage problems or does everyone move them a little once in a while?

I appreciate all the emails and private msgs I got from everyone and am glad to be a part of it. Got a lot of response since finding out about you all less than 24 horus ago.

Thanks!
Happy in Wisconsin (and hoping it doesn't snow tonight so I can drive tomorrow)

Where abouts

Fallguy,
Where abouts in Wisconsin are you located?
Here in Janesville we've had snow on and off all day, and they're calling for more Friday.

enjoy your ride.

Central Wis - Marshfield to be exact. Lands of beer, cows, farm ladies :reddevil and now.... 1 more SSR!?!!? (I think the ONLY ssr) lol :cool

I got it at Wheeler's of Marshfield - they had both in the showroom with 4 miles each on them. After mine had the flat spot on the tires (they said they would warranty/replace for free) I believe they were going to drive/move the silver one.
I am not advertising anything but I would talk to Ann the owner if you want it.

thefalguy: I took possession of a 04 in january after it sat on the floor for five months and it had flatspots but they went away in about 50 miles , but it has been in storage since due to a job relocation in St. Louis and I don't know what to expect when I get back.

Morning sickness

Mine, which I just got two weeks ago, had sat in the showroom for 4 or 5 months, and it had flat spots too. They went away after about 20 miles or so. They reoccur when it is cold out and it has sat for a couple of days.

The Audi TT that I traded for the SSR would do the same thing.

In the old days, before radial tires, flat spots were very common, and we used to call it "morning sickness" when your tires would thump for the first few miles in the morning.

Pit crew

It looks like your already a supporting member. The pit crew designation means you have been a member long enough and have the required amount of posts. I don't remember the exact amount, but I think it was 90 posts.
After I posted the above I looked at your personal profile and you have only 8 posts, so I guess you become a Pit Crew Member now as soon as you become a Supporting Member. When the forum started you had to be a member for so many days and have a certain number of posts.
