What: SSR Show and Charity Event

When: Saturday, August 20th, 11:00 AM til 2:00 PM . SSRs arrive at Tire Pros by 10:30 AM.

Where: Tire Pros, 1441 W. Sixth St., Corona, CA 92882

Why: Because we love to get together, meet new owners, show off our SSRs, and it is for a good cause.

Who: All SSR owners that want to join in for a day of fun.

We have been invited to a get together by Dale King, the owner of Tire Pros in Corona. It will also be a charity event to benefit the Corona High School football teams and an Outreach Program. There will be a barbeque and all SSR people will receive a free lunch. They are going to hold a raffle to raise money so raffle tickets will be sold. You are not required to purchase them, but you may if you wish to.

Dale King is going to contact other business owners in the area to get donations for the raffle, so if any of you have connections, and would like to donate something for the raffle, I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated. Donated items do not have to be car related. They are going to circulate flyers around town, so there should be a pretty good public turnout to check out our SSRs. Dale is also having some ‘TIRE PROS PREFERRED CUSTOMER’ cards printed which will have pictures of SSRs on them and will hand them out to the SSR owners at the show. They will entitle the holder to discounts for tires and services.

Don't forget to bring chairs, EZ-UPS and your official SSR name tags.

If you plan to attend, please respond to this thread, or PM me, with your name and your passenger's name, so we can give Tire Pros an accurate count of how many will be there. If you don't have a name tag yet, I will need your name, your user name, your passenger's name and relationship to you, so I can make you one.

We’ll be looking forward to seeing all our old friends at this event, and hope we meet some new friends there.

We wanna come!!!

The Enduro will be MIA due to the Woodward Dream Cruize event in Detroit, but we can come with our other showtruck.....

A giant Jeep Liberty (no laughing) that boasts an overall 8' high stance, roll bar, unbelieveable entertainments system, priceless suspension system, katzskins, cameras, Detroit Locker system and a beautiful "rock themed" paint job. Its a Rock Crawler set up.
Has taken first place in most shows as "most extreme" as well as in all Stereo and electronics mags.

Shes a neat piece of work, but can't go past 55mph :mad due to the suspension design for rock crawling.

Can we bring that instead??? Might there be any obstacles/rocks we can conquer? :lol

If you'll have us, we'd love to come!!! :flag (2 please) :)

Hi Lesa, I personally see no reason why you shouldn't come. After all, you are an SSR owner. Would love to see you again. I don't know if we can find anything for you to crawl over, and I'm definitely not volunteering my SSR, but I think everyone would enjoy seeing the Jeep Liberty. Who is coming with you, Al or your Dad?

How About No Restrictions Apply

How about opening it up to any specialty vehicle a person might have? It is great to see the SSR's and if anyone wanted to bring another vehicle because their SSR is down or because they wanted a chance to show it off, then why not do that? It would be great to see some of the other specialty vehicles people have. Also some of the people on this site who are not yet owners might just come :thumbs

Would that make it less of an SSR event? I don't think so. Afterall we are all SSR fanatics. And then I might just bring the Prowler! (it's been purring at me wanting some attention) Also, no you can not drive over the Prowler! :lol

What do you guys think?

Hi Eric, as I said in my initial post, we were "invited" to the Tire Pros shop to do an SSR event. I didn't feel that allowing one SSR owner to bring a different show vehicle would create a problem. I will have to talk to Dale King, owner of Tire Pros, and the rest of the planning committee before we open it up to other specialty vehicles. It will ultimately be Dale King's decision as to what he wants the show to be. I will post the answer as soon as a decision is made. Depending on how many SSR's sign on, we may not be able to because of space limitations.

Come to E. Lansing Michigan

Hey lloger,

I was hoping that perhaps some of you guys and gals would be able to come join in all the fun and activities at the Lansing Craft Centre in East Lansing, Michigan on August 19th. That is where we hope to have the largest ever SSR gathering ever put together that will be at the special "Homecoming Day" at the SSR Plant.

However if you aren't able to join us we will understand... hope you all will have a grand ole time with your gathering. :thumbs

Thanks Marc NY

I would really like to be there, but I doubt if we will make it this year. I hope you have a great turnout. All you have to do is get more than 50. Counting Sierra Chevrolet's Aqua Blur, that's what we had at Irwindale. It sounds like a great event and for a change the West Coaster's will be envying the East Coast SSR owners. Have a great time and take lots of pictures.

Will Take Lots of Photos

Hey lloger,

I completely understand... I will post lots of photos while I am there if I can get on line at the hotel like I did last year after the SSR day's events.

Hmmm I was just thinking... how many SSRs where there last year? It might have been a few more than 50? :jester

Hi Eric. I spoke to Dale King, owner of Tire Pros, this afternoon. He said he wants to keep this event an SSR event. He said having Axiom bring her jeep was fine because she is an SSR owner and her SSR will not be available for that weekend. He is excited about the SSRs and wants to get to know the SSR group. This is his first event, and he said that next time they may do a specialty car event, where Prowlers, Corvettes, Mustang GTs and any other specialty vehicles would be invited. If anyone shows up in any other specialty vehicle, they will not be turned away, but the SSRs will have priority parking, a free lunch and will be given the Preferred Customer Cards.
If you would like to plan a multi-specialty vehicle event I will be glad to help in any way I can.

Here's a map to the Tire Pros Store.
The address is:

From the 91, take the Lincoln Ave. exit; go south on Lincoln Ave. to 6th St.; go west on 6th St. and it will be on the right hand side.
