I am back working on Ron's truck again yesterday after a 2 month layoff due to 3 hospital stays and 2 surgeries.
This a beautiful truck with custom hood, fairings, custom chrome wheels and is lowered.
The truck was repainted with color change to Blue by a paint shop that had never seen an SSR before. They apparently removed every thing they could see to change the color. When I got to the Header Latch it had 2 bolts holding it in, the Header Switch was also missing bolts.
The lift cylinders were changed by guy that had never seen an SSR before. He pulled the seats, carpet on rear of cab, the console, waterfall and removed the bolts to the cylinders form the inside of the cab. He also got in the top compartment and tromped around.
So far we have:
1. Replaced an "O" ring on the lift on a lift cylinder.
2, Cleaned ground for ECBM.
3. Replaced ECBM with repaired one from DIcktator.
4. Replaced all of the ABS sensors.
5. Freed 2 stuck micro switches on the tonneau cover latches.
6. Found and replaced a connector in the top compartment that had a wire pulled out (when the guy got in the compartment) and could not be repaired.
7. Traced and inspected the wires to the tonneau cover.
8. Replaced Door,window,"top" module.
9. Found one of the micro switches in the Header Latch Assembly stuck and freed it up.
10.Found the micro switch in the left side of the Header intermittent and waiting on part from Dick.
11.Lubricated top hinges as per Dictator because we were getting a "Time Out" before the top seated in header.
12.Replaced Top Lift Cylinders with ones from Simple-Engineering.
13.Repaired the left "Door Click " as per the Dicktator.
When I first saw the truck the top was DOA.
We now have it so it will open the tonneau cover and the top will go up and seat in the header. Then DIC says "Header Switch etc". The top will not go down, DIC says "Raise Tonneau Cover Manually". We think this is connected to the problem with the Header Switch. Part will be here this week and we will install Sat.
What is left to do.
1.Finish repairing top.
2.Fix "Door Click" on right door.
4.Replace Windshield right fairing.
5.Replace "NAPA" intermittent Ignition switch with AC Delco switch form Amazon, cost $25.78 delivered.
6.Replace Bed Cover release switch with Volkswagon switch per Dicktator's repair instruction on the "Cloud". The switch went out last week.
7. Pull the Switch plate on the console and send to Dagon2U to repair the window switches.
Wheeeewow!
