My local wrench guy says I need a new Transmission Control Module. He can order me an aftermarket one, likely a reman, but says I have to take it to the dealership to get installed and programmed. I believe Mike in AZ probably has one. Does anybody know if Mike's units are already programmed to just switch out?

He can have it programmed for you. It then becomes a plug and play deal. He will need the VIN to have it programmed.

@Stlhotrod is correct, Mike will need your VIN to have the new TCM he sells programmed. Turnaround is 5 to 8 business days.

BTW, although your guy may well be right, you might want to post the details of the symptoms you're experiencing. The experts here may be able to save you some time and money if it turns out to be something else.
