U-Haul Weekender Sport Trailor

Hey Guy's and Gal's I'am looking for a U-Haul Weekender Sport Trailor. Not to rent from U-Haul but to buy and paint black to match my SSR. Does anyone know where to buy one, or is that possible. It looks like the back of a Vett. Has two hatches on it, one front and one rear.

Property of U-Haul

I rented one of these to pull behind my PT Cruiser on a round-trip from Oklahoma City to New Orleans in 2002. It's a WONDERFUL trailer, and I wanted to purchase one as soon as I returned to Oklahoma City. However, as I recall, "branded" into the plastic interior of the trailer was a clear indication that the trailers had been built ONLY for U-Haul and not for sale to "anyone" else.
If you really want to buy one, despite the "made for U-Haul only" apaprent status, try the following:

1. Ask you local U-Haul dealer to buy one to resell to you, letting him make a bit of money on the deal for handling it.

If he won't do it:

2. Ask him what would happen if you rented one and lost it. How much would you have to pay U_haul for it (sort of like losing a video rental)

I haven’t seen these on the road. How long have they been out?

U-haul does sell used equipment eventually.

Jim-
If you rent and "lose" the trailer you will have a problem with registering it. Unless of course you happen to "find" a set of license plates.

After seeing the quality of the equipment that U-Haul keeps on the road do you really want to buy something that they don't want?????
Hello Bad Asphalt LOL,

Find out who makes it for U-Haul. Then contact the company about purchasing one. Some one has to make it for them.

:agree I can't believe that the company that makes these slick trailers for U-Haul wouldn't make a "civilian version" that may be a little bit different so not to conflict with the U-Haul-only version.

If anyone finds out, PLEASE post it here!
Little Trailers

There are a bunch of manufacturers - but so far I haven't found the U-Haul sport.

I did find this though: http://www.hometown.aol.com/donniestrailers/

Perhaps he'll do a SSR trailer???

Car Replica Trailers

We have 55 Chevy, 55 Nomad, Corvettes, and 40 Fords. These trailers come custom made and painted your choice of color for $2700.00 and come wired with lights, 2 keys for access, hubcaps, carpeted, and a pneumatic cylinder for the top. The trailers have approximately 25 cubic feet of storage space and weigh 125 lbs. The trailers have lights at the bottom of each trailer and the lights on the car body itself also serve as functional lights. They come with tortion-bar suspension and 8 inch wheels. Inside dimensions are 36'' X 74'' and 15'' high, and even higher for where the tops at. Flames cost $100.00 more and special or illusion paints, depends on price of paint, usually $100.00 extra. They come with a standard 4 flat wiring harness, safety chains, and have an 1-7/8'' coupling. I require a $500 deposit before ordering paint. It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks after deposit to have a trailer ready. Orders are processed on a first come first serve basis. Contact information: [email protected]. I am located in North Alabama.

Like your idea that's kind of buying at cost. You think that would work at a dealer?
Take the SSR out for a test drive and kind of lose it!! :glol :glol :glol

Ding,

I realize it would need a complete restoration.

Check this one out!

Look like it would match the SSR per your taste with four different fender styles and the price seems right. :seeya

Your trailer is the best I have seen. Of course there is no way in hell I could get my body in that without some bacon fat and a pry bar. LOL
