Today's edition of the USA Today newspaper has a review of the SSR. They do an auto review in every Friday's edtion and today's happens to be the SSR. It's on the back page of Section D (the Life section) and is about a half-page in length. No real surprises as it lists the pros and cons that most of us are already aware of. All-in-all a pretty positive review. Thought you might like to find a copy and see what they're saying about our "ride".

How many years

I heard right from the start it was going to be a 5 yr. run. If so, that would take it to '08.

Inventories on the rise?

If you read the USA Today article GM reported 1,664 2003 sales and 3690 2004 sales. They made about 3,416 2003's and appoximately 5600 2004's to date. So there are still 1,318 2003's and 1910 2004's left to be sold and they are making around 1700 per month. Looks like discounts for the SSR will go up as the inventories rise. When the 2005's come out could we even expect to see rebates or 0% financing?:cool

Are we on the right thread?

This discussion might be better placed in the "SSR in the news" section.

It is interesting that you interpretted the article to say there are still 1,318 2003s available. When I read, "Chevy reported 1,664 2003 sales, another 3,690 through April 22 this year..." I thought he was saying 1,664 were sold in calendar year 2003. I assumed many of the 3,690 were also 2003 model SSRs. I know when I started my search in February I wanted a 2003 and there were already many more 2004s on the market. :confused

No matter how you look at it there have been over 9000 made and 5354 sold. that means there are still 3400+ on dealer lots. Thats over a third of the ones made. Also do the sales figures include sales to other dealers?????? How many were bought by dealers to resell. That also adds to the number on the lots.
A friend just saw a yellow one here in FL with a for sale sign on it. He stopped and asked the owner what he was asking. $56,000.00 !!!!!!!!!! For a used one. :lol Several of the larger dealers are coming down and asking MSRP now. My local dealer said because they sold all they got last year they will be getting a couple more than last years allottment. The dealers that are still sitting on inventory will be cut back on the number they get. GOOD, a double screwing for the greedy B*[email protected]*%s that added their dealer aquisition fees.
