A Quick reference for SSR VIN number decoding.

VIN cards published by GM for all model years are attached below. ** Note that you'll need to scroll down to the "Light Truck" breakdown on each card to see detail related to SSR. ** These cards are not SSR exclusive. They cover all make/model GM car, light truck, and medium truck produced in their respective model years, thus can be used to decode other GM products.


VIN for 2003:
1GC= US built Chevrolet
E= 6-7K GVWR w/Hyd Brakes
S6= SSR Signature Series, 4x2 1/2 ton
4= Two-door cab
P= LM4- 5.3L V8- SFI engine
0= Check digit
3= Model Year 2003
B= Plant- Lansing, MI
0= Signature Series
00001= Production Sequence number.

VIN for 2003
1GC= US built Chevrolet
E= 6-7K GVWR w/Hyd Brakes
S1= SSR Non-Signature Series, 4x2 1/2 ton
4= Two-door cab
P= LM4- 5.3L V8- SFI engine
0= Check digit
3= Model Year 2003
B= Plant- Lansing, MI
1= Regular Production (Non-Signature Series)
00001= Production Sequence Number

VIN for 2004:
