The vin's will run continuously for the SSR. They will not restart each model year.

So Freezer - any idea how many model years will be produced? Isn't the Lansing Craft Centre lined up for other GM HOT cars?

Any idea where the Pontiac Solstice is being built? My 14yo daughter came across some correspondence from GM and has decided that she wants to do like dad and get a first year release Solstice - '06 would work for her - she says!!!

I see that Troy also runs the 'Pontiac Solstice' site too - I'll have to register there too!!!

To answer my own question - looks like the Solstice will be built in Delaware...

When I went to the Houston Auto Show about 2 months ago - they DIDN'T have a Solstice on the floor - just the ugly Goat (and not the retro-ugly which would have been cool). It was even worse because the Houston Chronicle had done an article on the Solstice that morning - salesman said he didn't know why it wasn't there.

The VIN #8 for the engine just cannot be correct, I wish it had a 350 (or more) c.i.d. engine. :flag

Vin code correction

I believe the engine code is "T" not "P". 5.3L engine w/ FI. Hope this helps.

I cannot say how long we will build them or what other vehicles may be built at the Craft Centre. The SSR has always been planned as a low volume vehicle that would be produced for many years. Lots of GM people remember the Fiero. They got carried away and produced almost 40K one year. Everyone who wanted one bought one and that was the end. That is a fatal form of industrial hubris.

The last 6 numbers behind the "B" of my vin are 104669.
Did you build over 100 thousand before March 17th when I got mine?
Should it be 4 thousand Six hundred built.
Do you know the approximate build date of mine?
