FLOOD - TX 9/2019

I figure this one got caught in the recent torrential downpour around Houston
When the odometer is inoperable I think the water must have been quite high and the likelihood of survival is limited.
Not sure on this, just an opinion

iaa Stock #26106588
Hoston South - Progressive Casualty Ins
Primary - Flood
Secondary - Bio-Hazard
Odometer - Inoperable
Cannot Start
Airbags Intact

Every few weeks I spend time, trying to track down Insurance companies - relationships to our SSR fires etc
I spent all morning phoning, getting cut off, waiting for return calls etc

Dealerships generally use the same evaluation system
I asked if it was the same concept with major insurance companies - and it seems it is the same

The following SSR finally got to me - (I am sorry for lying - so many before this!)
#6666 - 226 k miles - Est Retail value - $18400
This SSR, pre-accident was worth about $10-11k

#13140 with 144k was given $12.4k
#23244 Pac Blue was offered $23.5k - but I got that kicked to $31K

These guys are all over the board

I spoke with State Farm (they were so co-operative) but they said the Salvage Yard set the value
When I spoke with Copart, they say the ACV is set by the insurance company
That solved a lot!

Stuck in the mud!
State Farms Evaluation Team is supposedly getting back with regarding fire losses, not holding my breath

So, without further ado - here is State Farms latest gem

SALVAGE TITLE -
Like who is going to fix this puppy
However, Carfax has it showing Total Loss Vehicle, Salvage Title, but one week later Rebuilt title
I have no idea how you rebuild and get a new title within 2 weeks
Or what person would take a 226k vehicle that has bumps and gashes everywhere to rebuild
I guess they are out there

Sorry for my frustrations - I just don't know how to deal with our titles

SALVAGE CERTIFICATE
Odometer 226000
Highlights:Run and Drive
Seller:State Farm Insurance
Primary Damage:FRONT END
Secondary Damage:REAR END
Est. Retail Value:$18,472 US

Thanks, guys - it just gets frustrating at times, and I have allowed my frustrations regarding the entire site get the better of me it seems.
I am pretty much maintaining my stuff (and BYERS Last of threads) - otherwise not on here much lately

Loss:- Collision
Primary Damage:- Left Front
Secondary Damage:- Suspension
Start Code:- Vehicle Starts
Odometer:- 133,683 mi (Not Required/Exempt)

IMO the ACV is high. Even as a fully optioned unit with 133k it should be around $14-15k
If the ERC is remotely close this will be parted out and become JUNK
I will monitor it

You are stabbing at my heart with that value.
Is that a former Fanatic that might have had SE spare and the tire is actually missing?

Hey Dwight
Do you think I am hitting too hard for an 05 with 133k @ $14-15k?
I guess it could be a SE kit, but if I was removing the tire the kit would be gone as well.
It is possible, but I doubt it - not that many kits around
I think it was more clerical lack of knowledge - but who knows

Dale,
You are far closer to the values than I am. It was a painful awakening to the value of my 06 with 264k that is all.

I wonder at what point in time is a vehicle's mileage of less importance? I think if you're for example looking at a "normal" 1957 Chevy that was for sale you may not even think to ask about vehicle mileage. You'd be asking if the engine and transmission was original or overhauled or whether the body had any rust etc., etc.. How many times the odometer rolled over may not be that important to you.

As long as there are as many low mile SSR's on the road, mileage will be relevant.
When our SSR's are 60 years old I don't imagine mileage will have much relevance.
We won't have much relevance either, so keep driving it Dwight!

This SSR has come up again on Copart and I had covered it in Post #951 so I haven't bothered with re-posting it.
However, I received a note from Stlhotrod has viewed it in person, pointing out things I can't see from the posted pictures.
I decided I should run it again and likely will eventually move it to JUNK

"Hi Cash
There is a Aqua Blur listed at Coparts in Sikeston MO that was listed already on your list back about 2 years ago on post # 951. Then it was listed at Copart in St Louis and sold. I looked at it yesterday and between the time it was sold before and now the miles have increased by 4 and now it is missing quite a few things. The bed carpet is gone, running boards, cooling fan, washer fluid jug, all 4 inner wheel well plastics, lower radiator support, rearview mirror missing, windshield cracked, top compartment was not latched and the plug was missing for the top tool to be inserted so I would imagine the top may not work or missing stuff for it to work. So don't know if it will go for parts or what but it was missing a lot that the pictures don't show. Someone will be in for a surprise

This was owned by Beryfun - Lynden WA
It is listed at auction "Bill of Sale"
I phoned Copart WA to determine what this means.
WA does not have the Salvage designation, and being offered w/Bill of Sale means it has been determined to have damage past repair.
If someone does repair it the title will show as Branded, but it does not sound like WA has a Rebuilt designation either
So, for our purposes, I will show it as Salvage, but with a good possibility it will end up being parted at a recycler facility and status altered to Junk:

SALVAGE TITLE - WA 10/2019
