The more I look at it the more I believe those seats will wind up on eBay
It appears it may have gone into a slide and hit a post/tree/pole to create that perpendicular damage
I am by no means a body man but with all of the seams hit it would be a really tough repair IMO unless someone replaces a full rear 1/4 plus tail light & a lid with 171k

Trying to get into the mind of an SSR aficionado is difficult - even if I am one!
If you have the ability to put it together, could give a rats ass about the mileage, don't care about the title - just want to own one - who knows.
I do not believe it can be purchased and repaired with the idea of turning a profit.

I spent the last couple weeks going through carfaxes, trying to see what Salvage Titles were still alive, even some Rebuilt Titles - trying to update the SSR-Branded Titles thread.

A huge number of the Salvage titles that I checked out (100 or so) have had no movement on Carfax for some years, so I have moved them to the Junk file
There are a bunch of Salvage SSR's that I will need to check on again next year - not something I look forward to
I would rather cut it at the quick and declare them dead sooner than later

I don't put much faith in the Title "category" any more - Salvage most often means Junk when it comes to the SSR
I am putting this one in the Junk Title category - surprise me!

JUNK - NV 8/20

It says WAIT Title, but
  • 1SS Base build as plain as can get except for wheels - one of them screwed
  • 204k miles
  • Seat splits
  • Listed for sale 5 years ago for $13.9k w/155k miles (had the wheels then)
Not a lot of visible damage undercarriage but worth more in parts IMO

SALVAGE - NY 9/20 - Title actually shows as VA, no idea why

53k and appears to be minimal rear damage - needs a rear fascia. Maybe the owners son ran his go-cart into the back of his Dad's truck in the driveway - may have driven the pipes back a bit, but hard to imagine any frame damage..
I realize you guys probably tire of me bitching about this stuff, but it seems I will never figure out what constitutes Clean, Salvage, Junk
The bid is already $17.4, which is probably fair value without the damage and a clear title

Copart Lot 48846680

***Sorry, did not realize I had already covered this one. I did not recognize it with front repairs
I can see why this received a Salvage Title based on the previous post #1483.
It appears some one has done front repairs - possibly could not find the rear fascia

This is one of the 61 MY2005 WD1 Pilots for MY2006 changes
It is a 6sp

#16832, 33, 34,35 were some of the early 6sp SSR's all RPO WD1 WD0 Pilots except #35 was only RPO WD1 - unsure what the difference is
These were 6sp test pilots - I could dig deeper - just don't feel like it - HaHa!
Most MY2005 WD1;s were built in MY2004 - all of those were M32 Automatics
The RPO is a way that GM could corral them to go to specific locations in a group

Although I think this will remain Salvage one of these 4 may be gone permanently if Junked

Copart #48399280

SALVAGE TITLE - CA 9/2020 but possibly clean - we know these Insurance companies!
I hope I can exonerate this one with such low mileage and limited damage but it is on Copart

I have your GM Build Sheet - same as what you have in your glove box
Test Vehicle?
Not on anything I have
#317 was a WDO WDI Pilot - one of the 69 Pilots that I have documented so well - #300 through #368
The WD0 WD1 will be on your build sheet as well as on your glove box
There was a Test Vehicle in MY2005 somewhere - will have to find it

What Sticker are you referring to Nathan?
If you have some special sticker please let us know
Send me a picture - [email protected]
Here is your build sheet
Your SSR was one of the original MY2003 69 Pilots
Built by MBRP Exhaust for SEMA
Very cool SSR for sure but the RPO's are mostly the same throughout the 69, different colors of course, some 1SA, some 1SB, w/different combinations of boards gauges & carpet
The only thing I can see is the WD0 which it is part of the Pilot bit.
WD0 is Identification Start of Platform Containment Vehicles.
GM corralled vehicles (Indy Parades for example) and #317 may have been the first in the corral.
Usually it is there to ensure all vehicles go to the same venue whereas the Original 69 Pilots were sent all over the place.
Even though a US build I think MBRP is based in Canada, so that may explain the WD0 - just guessing.
This may not make sense as time progressed as eventually there was a total of 272 WD0' and 254 WD1's

This was owned by Gnarly Dude in Colorado
I am helping Jim with his insurance settlement - hopefully I can help him as well as I have in the past for several SSR Fanatics.
