Thanks for the suggestion Rich. I've been monitoring their inventory, and scouring eBay for longer than I'd like to admit. Contacted them... They've got complete seats, but not components. Hopefully I'll find one soon, and can get one more project out of the way.

Now I see the difference. There is an opening for the seat belt hoop at the top. The opening for the DS will have to have a piece of plastic cut out to allow for hoop. Not a big deal. See photos.

Service replacement is the same part maybe the service replacement has you remove the section where the seat belt retainer is placed.
The seat hoop goes over that area. So it may not make a difference. I believe the frame of the seat back fits in the gap to provide support/struture. Mine have a gap in the opposite side of seat belt retainer that I never noticed before.
It's the same on the inboard side of both seats.

Maybe if @Mark E removes seat hoops he could make a decision. It's been way too long ago that I recovered my seats to remember.

I don't know if the seat belt hoop serves to hold the material in place on one side, and the plastic keeps it tucked in on the other, but your right... I'm going to break remove the seat hoop to see what's hiding underneath. While it may be too long ago for you to remember, I'm sure you can remember whether you used Katzkins or Leather Seat Co. and whether you were sane enough to have the new leather installed by a professional like Dicktator did, or were brave enough to do it yourself.

Seat hoop only hides the end of material as it shifts forward. As tight as it is around headrest, the plastic does not provide all of the support. I just cannot rember exactly how it goes. I try to foget painful things.

I used leather seats.com and I WAS insane enough to install myself.
I have done many seats with hog rings and other clips. Nothing like the seat backs on SSR. I have garmet steamer and don't think I would ever do backs again. Bottoms were not that big of deal.

You might be insane, but the photo says you know what you're doing. I don't have a garment steamer, but I do have a floor steamer, and I'm an idiot.

Have you gotten quotes from authorized installers vs cost of covers with shipping?

I did have some issues with the covers I purchased from leather seats.com

What Did You Do With Your SSR Today?

participated in Magic Dragon event with all of the SSR owners from Mo. Got to visit with most and enjoy cruises and plenty of food. Will have to get back on the diet again. Special thanks to CAZSSR for organizing the event.
