You need a really big washer and dryer! 11 quarters to wash, 3-4 to dry.

This is more of a warning note. While my cover was in the dryer one of the wire hooks latched into a hole the the drum of the dryer. The cover was quickly twisted up like the motor on a rubber band powered airplane. Wrecked that particular hook and elastic attachment.

I did the quick and dirty by removing all the hooks.

I need a different hook, one that can be unclipped for wash day.

The mirrors hold the cover pretty well and I removed the hooks for that very reason for cleaning. We have birds that seem to be able to hit it in mid flight. and boy are they good at the poop bombs

Fiftiesnut,

If you are keeping your truck outside with the factory cover on it. Be carefull! I had one and after a few several months, my cover became sucomb to the weather. It changed colors and started to tear. There is a picture of my old cover in the gallery and there is a picture of my new cover. Car motorsports makes a great cover with a lifetime warranty. Fits just as good as the GM cover. and it is a lot lighter thant the GM cover, even wet. The GM cover works great for use indoors. Outdoors is a different thing. Just my advice. Please be carefull with the GM cover.

Laundromat

I take my car covers to a local laundry to clean them once a year. Costs about ten bucks per cover. It's worth it. They have those big machines and when I get them back they're folded nice and neat.

It was like driving an invisible car, people pulled out in front of me, some man ran into the side of me in a parking lot, nearly flipped me over, I picked up every nail on the road, rock chips in the window at least 5 and not to mention the dirt.
