Good to see you are back on the board. Hey what does the VIN# mean anyways? Mine is 1725, does it mean that there were 1726 delivered before mine? Do the numbers go in order? How many are they going to make this year? It seems like it will be more than 4000 if the 70/day and last Vin i saw(3000s) stand.

VIN numbers are stamped sequentially.

However! I have seen rare exception to this, where the VIN number will bounce way back for 1 or 2 cars. Then it will go back and pick up where we left off. I'm not sure why this has happened... but its very rare.

It would mean that roughly 1724 salable vehicles were made before yours. I have no idea how cars are being delivered, but it seems that some people with higher numbers are sometimes getting them before slightly lower numbered vehicles. Perhaps its just simple geography? :)

No, I still have my job. Just been very busy lately... but I thought I would log on and see what people were saying about their cars.

:cheers :grouphug Morty: You tell those guys at the plant that the American Dream is alive and well thanks to them. I finally own an American Muscle Car, something I thought they would never build again! I can't say enough good things about my truck. It is everything and more than I hoped it would be. On the technical end, they may need to check out those hydraulic hoses as Lookin4anSSR has said in another post. I had roof time outs and a hose was definately wrapping around the knob in the compartment where the roof goes back. The neat thing is the system seems to adjust itself and it worked seamlessly later. Definately no leaks either but we have a major NorEaster this weekend so that will test that theory. Otherwise, the top has gone up and down a zillion times since I got it (everyone seems to want to watch that?). I am especially pleased with the pick up off the line. With all the discussion about the SSR being a led sled, I thought it would be a bit dogged in the pick up and go area, but to my surprise, I am blowing the doors off those rice rockets out there. I just love Sushi! Especially smoked sushi!!! By the way, the kids at the school where I teach absolutely love the thing! Took it out front of the school before Thanksgiving and showed the kids waiting for their late buses how the top went up and down and reved my Black Bird up for them. It is so cool to be able to share this toy with everyone!

Morty, Thanks for the info. As far as the car goes, it's a great car. I had plans to sell this car for a small profit and then buy an M3 (BMW). But the car is soooooo cool I decided to keep it. It drives well and the top works perfect. Thanks to you and all the guys who are putting in the long hours.
