What A Waste!!

1302 Views 18 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  An SSR's Wife
Went to the "barber" on Saturday and there was a yellow SSR in the parking lot with it's top down. Unfortunately, it looked as if it was never washed, the interior looked liked somebody lived in it (plus they liked Wendy's), and the right front fender was caved in and scratched up! I went inside and asked the gentlemen if anybody owned it and they all said no. I went to the other side where they manicure nails and asked the ladies and they also said no. I got a trim and came out about 15 minutes later and the SSR was gone. I still don't know what I would have said to the owner but "What a Waste!!" :confused :confused

Gary,

Some people don't deserve what the good lord blessed them with! They probably never worked for anything in thier life and "stuff" comes easy for them. If they worked every day of their existence to make the car and insurance payments they would not leave it in that condition. At least I would hope they wouldn't !

Rob

Gary:

You scared the %$#@& out of me as I was in the Barber Shop on Saturday with my SlingShot, with the top down!!!! Don't think of mine as dirty on the interior but does have a little dust.... PLUS, my right front fender and fascia were blitzed by some idiot in a parking lot... She went to the body shop this morning!

Now the big question, were you in Rocklin, California on Saturday!!!!!????

Rainwater, no I am temporarily assigned to working in the KY area for the next 6 weeks. I forgot to say( senior moment) that the chrome wheels looked like they were starting to pit but I don't know what the state uses on their roads in the winter. To me the SSR looked like it was trashed!!

Oh good, for I was afraid you were at my Barber Shop! HA! I too have chrome wheels...... Mine are clean!!!

Too bad someone would mistreat such a nice vehicle.... Being raised in Oregon we had a moniker for folks that migrated from Calif. and other states with vehicles in that condition.......!

Regards,
I'm of three minds about this report.

One side of me wants to be outraged.

The other is sympathetic. After mine was bumped I didn't want to bother cleaning it till just before it went to the body shop.

The third side is saying "It's a convertable, fer cryin out loud. Sometimes its going to get dirty, and anyone who can't stand wind borne debries, just shouldn't buy a convertable.
I Agree with Beer100

I don't even think I would know how to wash a car or truck... If it wasn't for my old man, mine would look like Lookin4anssr's truck :lol Not to pick on him, he is a cool guy but won't wash his SSR !!! :glol

:agree Mine looks great, but the old man does the washin' so if you don't like the way the :ssr looks, talk to him :lol
It is rather odd for someone to get such a special truck and just treat the thing like it was a rental or some cheap get around car. Those people should be stripped of their ssr :boxing
What a Waste

One of the true joys of my life is cleaning and washing my ssr. Hubby and I work hard for our money and having this truck is pure joy for me. I waited 3 years for "Betsy Blue" and I intend to give her a good home :yesnod
What a shame, I feel just a little nutty when I spend so much time washing mine. And everyone wants to help and I say NO! I can't imagine it being messy inside or out.

I love to see her shine! :)

If anybody want to volunteer to wash my truck !!!!

I do actually take my truck to get it hand washed about once a month, but 2-3 days later it looks like it's never seen water (at least clean water). I would have to wash it twice a week with the amount I drive for it to look clean....and that's just too much.

I did fully intend to keep my SSR looking nice when I first got it. I bought a bunch of Zaino stuff, but I got it in the winter and by the time spring rolled around....
I wound up giving Cruzin Ed the stuff I had bought so that he had extra to wash everyone else's truck that came to visit him :lol

25 yrs ago I had an Olds CS that I had a customized candy apple red paint job on. I worked and went to school full time and, unless it was raining, would wash it every day, literally (washing at midnight was common--obsessive?). The finish was such that soap was discouraged, just clean water and a good sponge and ONLY a real chamois to dry.
Those were the days when I had more time than sense (ah, those were the days), I also lived in southeast Texas, a bit warmer year round than where you are so easier to achieve.

Amp,

I was born and raised in Texas, didn't it used to be against the law to drive your truck around dirty? :lol Or did it just feel that way in growing up? :lol

Rob
UH oh.. I have not washed mine for 2 months now....LOL
No TV for me, I wash trucks.
My black SSR and black Xtreem gets washed about every 3 days.
My white 4x4, Ford 350, 4 door crew cab get washed about every
30 days, but it sits in my shop most of the time waiting for its turn
to get drove.
My son keeps the silver CTS washed about 1 or 2 times a week.
I don't ever ride in it anyway, who needs a car!
I'm a truck guy.
:lol

The only vehicle my husband washes is "Lenore" So now the rest get driven dirty.. I guess they don't matter anymore! :cry
