TWO SSR's!

Naw, I'm not rich, it was just JimGnitecki visiting me today.

Went to a car show, played with the Predator on Miss Daisy and then dinner at our house! Fun time!

On a serious note MAN, did that Predator wake up the tiger in Miss Daisy! She FLIES now! More on this later..........

Wow what a nice looking abode!

Love the look of two SSRs in your drivway too. Can I come visit you too John? ;)

Of course Marc (And everyone else!)
Buffy also got to drive my 4.56 geared SSR!

I think he said something about his wife Pat getting him a 4.56 for an anniversary present (p.s. remember that the SSR is actually PAT's vehicle, not Buffy's, to appreciate the true nature of this wish . . .)

John...what did the predator actually do to Miss Daisy to make her fly?
I Booked Barber Motorsport Race

Sweep down the drive a Redline Red will be there April 21. My son and I have booked tickets for the AMA Superbike race at Barber. The race goes off on the 22. So we will be passing through Atlanta on the 21st of April.

I have marked the dates down and your reservation has been confirmed! HA!

Drive safe, Scott. Can't wait to meet you in person and I assume that you'll be spending the night here? You should have my phone number from a previous PM, correct?
OK, I hate to "highjack " my own thread, but living2be asked about the Predator and Miss Daisy.

First of all, I got to drive JimGnitecki's SSR with his brand new 4:56 gears and remapping of his ECU and I must say, this is how I expected an SSR to run. - QUICKLY! It has true, seat of the pants acceleration and is a blast to drive.

Well, after that, I just HAD to do something to Miss Daisy, so I bought the Predator from him, installed the Performance Tune option with it and lo and behold, even Miss Daisy now roars instead of a little bark.

Here is what Jim and I found after the Predator package was installed (about 10 minutes of work!):

1) Wide open throttle (WOT) shifts raised to 5,800 RPM (Lot more sound out the pipes, yeah!)
2) Shifts were made later (to use the max torque curve to my advantage)
3) Shifts were firmer (I loved this almost as much as the sound)
4) Timing was advanced (More low-end throttle response)
5) Cooling fans come on at 193 degrees instead of 235 (One of my main concerns)
6) Ability to modify any of their (Predator's) pre-set Performace settings. (I changed the 1st to 2nd shift from 36 MPH to 39 MPH and I may plan to mess with shift pressures for a little stiffer shifts. BUT, if I don't like what I did, I can reset it back to the Predator's default Performace settings, or even back to GM's stock settings when it goes back to the dealer for work. Both resets take about one minute! Honestly!)

Best performace money so far! Now that I've seen the results, I would do it again in a minute!

(Now, do you think my wife would like 4:56 gears for her anniversary present?)

Diy?

Buffy, Is this a relatively basic job for do it yourselfers?
What is the cost?
Looks like

Change the house and it looks like Machell and I parked side by side.

Big-Daddy,

It is SOOOOOOOOO simple. Just read the directions and you can't go wrong!

We took our time and it was only about 10 minutes of work, all of it from the driver's seat. No dirty hands or anything! :thumbs

Thanks for the info John...sounds like you and Jim are the ones! Predator should hire you two for PR's! Sounds like an investment I need to make!

Hugh,

As you know, I don't work for Predator or know anyone who does, but just wanted to share with everyone a product that makes a difference.

And believe me, with only 10 minutes of "work" (you just sit there!), you wont be disappointed.

Buffy - could you have done it in ten minutes without Jim sitting next to you??

Yes, now I will admit, Jim read the directions before coming over and the only things MANDATORY were:

  • Parking brake ON (to turn off DRL)
  • Key on, but not started
  • Plug in unit
  • Follow screen directions.

It was THAT easy!

Without Jim, it may have been another 5 minutes to pre-read the instructions before staring.

JIM: Do you agree?

I think without me it might have taken LESS time! I tend to perseverate on details and worry about what MIGHT happen if you screw up . . .

Seriously guys, this IS easy. Just follow the instructions with out skipping any of them and you will be fine.

That's right from the horse's mouth! :lol

Thank you Mr. Gnitecki! (prounced - Gi-ni-tech-ee!) From the Latin word "Genius Technician"

Buffy, now that this is done

did you fillup with premium fuel before you started the reprogramming? That is a requirement of obtaining the performance enhancements, right?

P/P

Peace :flag

VERY GOOD QUESTION P/P!

The answer was NO! Believe me, after finding out about that, I've been feathering the hard starts until I run the 89 out and fill it with Amoco 91.
