What number truck do I have? The last 5 of the vin is 11703 and it is an 04....

Your Vin is the last five digits. The SSR is apparently the only GM vehicle built with consecutive serial numbers, instead of restarting every model year - makes it really easy to get an idea where your toy fits in.

An early 03 would have carried the same last 4 digits, but a 0 in the fifth spot. Glad you got your SSR - are you grinning yet?

Well Iam grinning right now... I pick it up tomorrow morning... I just could not wait till Saturday like planned...

So my truck is number 11703?

I wonder where that fits in withthe production of the 04's? Front middle end?

I also went ahead and told the boss that I am going to be sick tomorrow...

To find the birth month of your SSR look on the door sticker. Mine shows 06/04 in the upper corner. So that means it was made in June and sat on the lot til I got it in October.
