I know this may be an offhanded question,
But who's idea was it to sell 13 different colors of MY2006 SSRs...
On Amazon? Why Amazon?

For those wondering, the colors supposedly available are,

Aqua Blur
Asphalt
Ricochet
Redline
Slingshot
Pacific

Aqua Blur over Ricochet
Asphalt over Ricochet
Pacific over Ricochet

Ricochet over Pacific ~~Was this an option?
Ricochet over Asphalt
Ricochet over Aqua Blur

Pacific over Asphalt

If anyone knows anything,
I will gladly be amused to the story.

In 2003 the 25 Signature Series :purple: were built but not part of the regular production run

2003 were :ssr:black::yellow:
2004 were :ssr:black::yellow::silver::purple:
The Ultra Violet was discontinued after 2004
Aqua Blur was introduced in MY2005
2005 were :ssr:black::yellow::silver::blur:
MY2006 had a bunch of additions including 532 Pac Blue :blue: but also 433 Two Tones built

Not sure what story you are looking for

Just My Guess

GM, seeing that the production of the R was coming to an end, :crying:had a lot of paint that was going to be left over, at that plant some BEAN counter told them that if they added 2 Tone paint jobs they would use up the remaining paint. Just my guess. >:)

Ok. I've now learned something new about 2006 trucks.

But my question still remains, who and why are they on Amazon?
It seems like an inefficient place to sell stock colors...

People buy all sorts of things off Amazon. They are THE major player in retail sales so the (other) question to ask might be why not?

This is what you get. :smile2::smile2::smile2:

........ Only 7 produced in that combination.

How many Pac Blue over Silver? I think that is my favorite! I have only seen one at Maggie Valley in 2014.

Only 32

BTW: I drove along with Bob Walcyzk in a Pacific Blue/Smokin Asphalt to the Final day of Production of the SSR at the LCC, March 17, 2006.

Marc, who was GM's mathematician? HaHa!
There are so many mistakes on those Production Number PDF's
Pretty much anyone can add that column and come up with 433, not 432.
And there are 433 TuTones.
Somehow they came up with 327 :silver:, not the 326 recorded
When I spoke with Bob Walczyk he said it had something to do with "Bins" and sometimes there was a half SSR in one and the other half in another
Make sense - not to me either! HaHa!

I wish I could edit those PDF's and make things straight - or allow me to advise someone about the corrections that should be made
I don't believe there is a year that doesn't have numerical mistakes - all fine I guess if you are playing darts or horseshoes.

Back to the subject at hand the :blue::black: is my favourite TuTone
I have a copy of that picture - you may have posted it.
I grew up with the concept Black & Blue should never be seen together and I guess that may be why such low production.
I like the PacBlue over Silver a lot but PacBlue over Black is way cool!

I would be fine talking to someone that has the ability to edit/correct those PDF's.

I was oh so close to buying one 10 years ago this month. The seller (hi Doug ;)) and I were haggling and $1,000 apart when the markets went down the toilet and the Canadian dollar took a nose dive. That ended all dreams of owning it :cry
